Just watched "I hate a mystery" where Ho-Jon steals from the
camp. One of the last lines in the episode is Radar
protesting he's not short.

Was Gary Burghoff self conscious about being short, or was
that just something written in?

Radar was written as short. However, in real live, Gary Burghoff is
very tall, 6'2" I think. It is a credit to his acting talent that he
was able to play Radar as so convincingly short.

I'll assume you are just kidding, because I met Gary briefly back in
1984 and he was noticeably shorter than I am (5' 10"). Most online
sources put him at 5' 5", which sounds about right.

I guess that's even better than Loretta acting being blonde.
I'm so glad the people on this group will keep me informed.

Neat! What's Gary like, in person? Of course the other
fellow was kidding. I've probably shrunk to five ten, so I
know what's that like.

He was shopping in my aunt's toy shop when I walked in. To be honest,
I didn't notice it was him at first until I heard him talk. The
encounter lasted all of about 15 seconds.

I've met a few people who were notable for this or that
reason. Most of them are rather ordinary in most other
respects. I'm glad you made the connection. I bet you wish
you had some more time to chat with him, his screen self
sure is interesting person.
