cliffhanger episode song

I apologize if this is in the Magnum P.I. FAQ (if it exists), but
this is
something that has been bugging me a while. On the cliffhanger season
finale episode, where Magnum has been shot and on the verge of death,
they play a song at the end as he walks through some mist and Higgins
calls out his name (I think - it's been a while since I've seen the
episode)
as well as over the end credits. It was quite folky, the singer sounded
John Denverish, and it had a line like "Fly like an eagle" or "On the
wings of an eagle." Can anyone tell me the name of the song and who
performed it? Thanks.

It was indeed John Denver, the episode was "Limbo", the name of the song is
"Looking For Space" and can be found on the following John Denver albums:

Windsong
Greatest Hits Volume 2
The Rocky Mountain Collection
The Country Roads Collection
and a live version on:
John Denver Live At the Sydney Opera House
The song can also be found on the Magnum Soundtrack (1989) which can be
obtained from Magnum Memorabilia's David Romas.

No, problem. The song is one of my favorites of all time, and being a John
Denver fan as well, I figured you might like to know where to pick up the song.

You too huh? It's been years since I saw that show and I never good get that
song out of my head. I finally gave up and bought it> Now I play it all the
time. My wife thinks I'm nuts. It's "Looking for Space" by John Denver. I
bought the big double CD set. Makes me cry every time.
