Who is Robin Masters?

surfing the net for the first time and finding this newsgroup and
various info on MPI. Please excuse my nettiquete(SP?), as this was my
first time on the web and using E-mail.

AS FOR THE ONGOING MAGNUM P.I. QUESTION "WHO IS ROBIN MASTERS?" I HAVE
MY OWN THEORY. BUT FIRST, SOME QUESTIONS THAT I WOULD LIKE TO RAISE.
I'VE ONLY READ A FEW THINGS RECENTLY ABOUT MAGNUM AS I DON'T HAVE EASY
ACCESS TO THE 'NET(IF YOU CAN BELIEVE THIS...I HAVE TO USE MY PARENTS
COMPUTER). TODAY I DISCOVERED YOUR NEWSGROUP AND SAW THAT THERE WAS
MENTION OF A POSSIBLE MAGNUM P.I. MOVIE THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN IN THE
WORKS. NOW I DON'T WANT TO START ANY RUMOURS SO PLEASE CLARIFY IF THAT
IS WHAT I UNDERSTOOD IN ONE OF THE ENTRIES. I WILL ALSO TAKE A LOOK AT
UNIVERSAL STUDIOS' SITE THE NEXT CHANCE I GET, BUT I DON'T KNOW WHEN
THAT WILL BE. ANY INFO ON THAT WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
ANOTHER QUESTION IN REGARDS TO MAGNUM P.I. IS, IS THERE AN OFFICIAL FAN
CLUB? AND WHAT ABOUT CERTAIN PIECES OF MEMORABILIA OR LIKENESS OF
(i.e. TEAM RINGS?). ALSO, IS THERE A WAY OF ACCUMULATING ALL THE MAGNUM
P.I. EPISODES OTHER THAN HAVING TO RECORD RERUNS THAT SOMETIMES GET CUT
OFF OR DELAYED IN THEIR START AND END TIMES(PLUS CONTAIN COMMERCIALS). I
HAVE ALMOST EVERY EPISODE BUT AM STILL MISSING ABOUT A DOZEN OR SO
EPISODES. IT CAN BECOME VERY FRUSTRATING NOT KNOWING WHICH EPISODE IS
GOING TO BE ON AND HAVING TO RECORD EPISODES I ALREADY HAVE. I THINK
THAT ABOUT COVERS MY QUESTIONS FOR TODAY, I HOPE I WAS ABLE TO KEEP YOU
IN SUSPENSE LONG ENOUGH TO PEAK YOUR IMAGINATION IN REGARDS TO "WHO IS
ROBIN MASTERS'? AND WHY HASN'T HE TOLD ME!"
MY THEORY ON WHO ROBIN MASTERS IS STARTS WITH SOME SIMPLE DEDUCTIONS ON
THE WAY THE SERIES HAD UNFOLDED OVER ITS 8 SEASONS OF VIEWING PLEASURE.
I FEEL THAT EVERYTHING MORE OR LESS COMES TOGETHER AT THE SERIES
CONCLUSION WITH MAGNUM GOING BACK TO THE NAVY.
IN THE EARLY EPISODES MAGNUM IS JUST A REGULAR GUY WHO IS TRYING TO STAY
YOUNG AND AVOID THE IMPENDING METAMORPHOSIS OF AN AGING MAN. THROUGH
THESE STAGES ARE THE ADVENTURES AND EPISODES IN HIS LIFE, IT'S THE
"LITTLE VOICE IN MY HEAD" THAT TELLS ME THERE IS MORE TO THIS SIMPLE
QUESTION THAN MEETS THE EYE. EVERYONE SEEMS TO THINK THAT HIGGINS IS MR.
MASTERS BECAUSE OF THE TRADITIONAL FACT THAT WRITERS WRITE BOOKS UNDER A
"NOMME DE PLUME". THE SERIES GOES ON FOR YEARS WITH T.M. ACCUSING
HIGGINS OF BEING ROBIN AND HIGGINS DOESN'T BAT AN EYE. NOW THE FACT THAT
HIGGINS HAS HIS MEMOIRS AND NEVER REALLY LETS MAGNUM GET A HOLD OF THEM
DOES AROUSE A LOT OF SUSPICION. HOWEVER, I THINK THAT ONE MUST BE A GOOD
INVESTIGATOR AND NOT ALLOW THEMSELVES TO BECOME EMOTIONALLY INVOLVED
WITH THEIR CASE. IT WOULD BE VERY EASY TO CONCLUDE THAT HIGGINS IS ROBIN
MASTERS, BUT I THINK THAT WOULD BE WRONG. THROUGH THE SERIES ROBIN IS
NOTORIOUS FOR HIS JETSETTING LIFESTYLE AND HIS INCAPABILTY TO STAY PUT
FOR ANY REAL LENGTH OF TIME. I DON'T REMEMBER WHICH EPISODE IT IS BUT
THERE IS AN ATTEMPT TO KILL ROBIN (OR MAYBE STEAL HIS MANUSCRIPT FOR HIS
NEXT NOVEL-NOVEL CONNECTION?). IN THIS EPISODE AT THE END, SOMEONE
WEARING A WHITE SAFARI TYPE SUIT-WHO IS PRESUMABLY ROBIN MASTER-IS SEEN
CLIMBING INTO A HELICOPTER, HAVING REGAINED THE MANUSCRIPT AND LEAVES
BOTH THOMAS AND HIGGINS STANDING THERE AFTER THEY HAVE TRICKED THE BAD
GUYS.
THAT EPISODES ENDING COUPLED WITH THE FINAL SEASON'S ENDING EPISODES
INTRODUCTION OF THOMAS SULLIVAN MAGNUM II(T.M.'S GRANDFATHER). IN THIS
EPISODE WE LEARN OF THE LITTLE PROBLEM THAT MAGNUM HAS WITH THE WAY HIS
GRANDFATHER HAS TREATED THE REST OF HIS FAMILY AS WELL AS HIMSELF.
DURING THIS EPISODE WHERE TOM HAS SEEN HIS GRANDFATHER FOR THE FIRST
TIME IN SEVERAL YEARS. TOM COMES BACK TO ROBIN'S NEST AND IS FOUND
"GETTING TO SOMETHING HE HAS WANTED TO GET TO FOR A LONG TIME", CHOPPING
UP A TOPPLED TREE ON THE GROUNDS OF THE ESTATE. WHEN UP WALKS A
GENTLEMAN(CAMERA ANGLE FROM THE REAR) WEARING A WHITE SAFARI TYPE SUIT.
THIS MAN WHO JUST HAPPENS ALONG TO THE ESTATE FOR A QUICK LITTLE VISIT
WITH HIS NAMESAKE GRANDSON IS NONE OTHER THAN T.M.'S GRANDFATHER
OFCOURSE. SO MAGNUM AND HIS GRANDFATHER PATCH THINGS UP, MAGNUM HAS HIS
GRANDFATHER BACK AND LOOKS FORWARD TO INTRODUCING THOMAS SULLIVAN MAGNUM
II TO HIS DAUGHTER LILY. BUT LOW AND BEHOLD GRANDPA HAS DISAPPEARED FOR
THOMAS' SURPRISE. NOW, WHO ELSE WOULD SHOW UP UNANNOUNCED AT THE ESTATE
AND DISAPPEAR JUST AS QUICKLY...

As for the ID of Robin Masters???Ah, the HUGE question.
My theory would be that it is the talented twin brother of Higgins.a
And Jonathan Quayle simply can't stand it. It is too humiliting for him
to have an identical twin who writes trashy best sellers - -
It also absolutely kills him that to find the time to write his own
memoirs, he must maintain his brother's estate.
He hires an Orson Wells clone once in a while, to stand in for 'Mr.
Masters." He found this actor through his old friends at Reel Services
in the Kaka'ako section of Honolulu.
Kaka'ako is an old, funky, small-business section of Honolulu, full of
auto parts shops, warehouses, antiques and junque, self-storage, repair
shops, and a few small tv production companies.
A gourmet coffeee company keeps the air fragrent - - - and the
relatively low rents draw in a few artists, gallieries, an potters. It
is the kind of area that has character - - -andd that the Big Boys can't
wait to "redevelop".
Of course if it is redeveloped, it will not be Honolulu any more. It
will be Megalomaniaopolis, USA.
As it is today, no one expect anyone like Higgins to know anyone in the
area, except for a few artisans. And the coffee company outlet. And he
CERTAINLY woldn't know anyone vulgar enough to be "in fllm.'

Then there is theReality Check.
Ya know that famous tree in the forest? The one that keeps falling
over, and no one knows if it makes a noise if no one is there?
One wonders who keeps propping it back up, it has fallen so many times.
Ths is a parallel to the mystery of Robin Masters.
Does the real identity of Robin Masters exist outside Bellesarios head?

I just noted that JAG makes a respectable showing in the list of the top
20 American TV shows.
I dunno - -the writing doesn' have the wit I expect from Bellesario -
and the actor who plays Harm is Generic Caucasian Hero Man. I can't
tell him apart from the young John Derek, Robert Wagner, or william
Conrad - - -or your average male soap star - - -all of whom are
interchangable.
Except for Eric Braedon. Who looks like TS, and that sets him apart.
I guess my point here is that after Quantum Leap, life ain't the same
any more. Rmance has gone dark and full of FX - - - - or else it is all
on Lifetime, the channel that insults women. . . .
Hope y'all are having a fab weekend. It is 82 degrees in Waikiki, with
trade winds blowing and the ocean temp is 80 degrees
Big poofy clouds blow across the sky. And when sunset comes, God will
do his thing with them and the light - -different every night - -- - --
- no one tires of watching this heavenly show.
