I think I saw somewhere Jamie Stemple Buchman is the full name. any
info?

Jamie's middle name is Eunice, which was revealed just before Paul and Jamie
turned off the video cameras towards the end of "Our 15 Minutes"/#311. This
was when they decided to be really honest and were trading off revealing
secrets. Paul thought Jamie's middle name was Karen.

The character name appears that way in the MAY FAQ. It doesn't
give a middle name for Jamie, or Lisa, or Paul, or *any* of the cast,
that I could find, anyway. Elsewhere in this NG, we recently learned
that Danny Jacobson named Jamie after "Amy Buchman,' a girl he
went to school with.

Of course, I've got a publicity shot press photo released just before
the series started in '92, where Paul and Jamie are referred to in the
caption as the Coopers. Hmm...

What I was thinking about this is.. wouldn't Paul know what her middle name was
during their wedding? The real one, not to one on the street. =)

Of course! Now I recall her blurting that out.

And at the time (when I first saw the ep), I thought maybe she was
just making that up, as with her tattoo (?).

>Paul thought Jamie's middle name was Karen.

Why Paul would think that is *anyone's* guess. Personally, I vote for
inconsistent writing ("A rarity for MAY," he said with tongue planted
firmly in cheek).

Of course, at that time, Jamie thought Paul had never been married
before...

revealed, and Jamie's middle name is in fact... Eunice. Paul had thought it

Could have been Karen but she was lying to the camera in " Our 15 minutes"

Excellent! And, for the OMR (Obligatory MAY Reference):

DeMille directed 'The Greatest Show on Earth,' a classic film about
Ringling Brothers/Barnum & Bailey, et al....On MAY, in the 3rd season
ep "Mad Without You,' as the gang is reassembling P & J's bed, one

Mary;

I agree with Dudley on this. Please post a list of some sort of the things
your Highness does or does not approve of. For plebeians, such as myself, if
I'm going to tempt the Queens wrath, I like to know how to do it (knuck,

Not that I'm intending to make trouble, but somebody's got to take up where

I love "Our Fifteen Minutes"- IMHO, one of the all time greats. Anyway, at
the end, in front of the camera, it's the "moment of truth" for the couple,
so to speak. Jamie admitted to not working on her client's campeign or
something. She also says about how she stole the flowers in the pot, and
having a tatoo (which conflicts with this year's story plot episode, but we
won't go there...) and Paul admits to directing "Hooter Vacation" under a
sudonym (sp?)...then Jamie says "My middle name is Eunice..." So, I think
that everything they said was supposed to be "true"...and I think she was
'lying' about Karen...I know that the dialogue as they exit is:

Paul: "I thought you said your middle name was Karen..."
Jamie: "I lied....Hooter Vacation?"

hope this helps..

There isn't a list per se. I'm not trying to provoke anyone, either, but there
has been a long understanding, particularly with those who've been here in the

NB: He said "try not to...", sometimes (nb: "sometimes"), it's inevitable that
a few rules do creep in there. ;-) Just like we don't permit flame mail, stuff
like that! ;-)

Without rules there would be total chaos. Without rules, who needs rul.....
I mean, .....um .....yardsticks?

#1. no Selby
#2. no Jerry L.
#3. THERE WILL BE NO RULE #3!
#4. no 3 Stooges
#5. no encoded messages
#6. no WoO (wizofoz)
and I almost forgot #7 no drinking.

(The RMBCMP appologizes for any obscure Monty Python refferances made in the
above message, especially the paraphrased rule #7 taken from a sketch where
it was originally... There will be no, NOT drinkin'. I was so wrong.....

Not that there's anything wrong with that. Oops, wrong sitcom, or maybe not,
I just pictured Paul speaking that line. Did he, or was that just my
imagination running amuck?

Mind if we call you Bruce?

Mind if we call *him* Bruce?

I agree that he might have said such a thing, but we'll leave it to
the mavens that own a library of shows, such as myk! or Tsee (I
think), to tell us for sure.

Well now Bruce, if we didn't call everybody Bruce it would be confusing,
wouldn't it?

Jeez Arb, don'tcha got enough pseudonyms? Now Bruce?!?

Anyway, to the best of my recollection Paul has never used the line "not that
there's anything wrong with that". At least not in the way Seinfeld (RIPIJ)
didn't in reference to someone being homosexual.

I closely associate that line with Seinfeld, so it's a bit difficult to
imagine Paul saying it quite like that, though it's not totally out of the
realm of possibility. To turn that around, it'd be hard to imagine Seinfeld
doing the "so you're both standing there with your shirts off" routine, from
"The Late Show"/#214, with the same style.

I am sure that it is Karen because Paul surely has seen the marriage license
and if the name on it is Karen but Jamie's real name is Eunice..
Uh oh!!!

Do you need to put your middle name on a marriage license?

BTW, I am new to this group, and a major MAY fan. I got two people REALLY
freaked out about me when I sat in a hotel room with them reciting "Our 15
Minutes" (my #3 favorite episode- I have a top five for my fave tv shows- isn't
that sick?) Anyway, I'm glad to have found you all-

Carli
"Scurry away, little ants- back to your holes"-
Jamie Buchman
"What? Ingrid Bergman can't press her own elevator button?"-
Sylvia "Sylvania" Buchman
"Oh, just shoot me now"-

Yeah, but aren't we all suffering from various levels of derangement? So
don't stop with #3 we want to know 1, 2, 4 and 5. (speaking for the group
that is.)

And, speaking for the group again, we're glad you did.
