Tahnks for the Selby trivia tidbits. I didn't know he was in L.A. Story.

I still haven't seen the finale. Can someone fill me in on the Selby
mentioning?

He wasn't all THAT morally upstanding -- didn't he jump into the middle of some
charity run or something (a bike ride?) and "win" it?

So, he was mentioned as a possible guardian? I haven't been able to watch
the show since December. I would love it if people could fill me in.

Towheaded? Where I come from, it meant that the individual in question
has a white-blond hair, in comparison to the other family members having
strawberry-blonde. My middle sister is tow-headed, while the youngest is
a brunette.

Thanks to syndication, we've seen the Selby episodes, and I can
understand why he was retired. He gave me the impression that he was some
sort of generic dopey friend who had wandered in from some other sitcom.
Ira has more New York character.

Just to finish up the thought, I'm pretty sure it went:
J: "Don't we have any friends? We used to have friends."
P: "Whatever happened to Selby?"
J: "Don't call him."

I'm assuming (as I always have to with Dave's posts, since he can't
seem to do any threading) that you're referring to a couple posts back
about Selby jumping into the middle of a race?
As I recall, it was the New York Marathon, and Selby started the race
with everyone else, then popped over to McDonald's and picked up some
burgers and hung out with Murray at the apartment, planning on joining
the marathon runners again at the finish line.

That episode was on just last night -- it wasn't a marathon, it was a
"charity 10K" run, charity unspecified. I was wondering, though -- 10K
isn't all that far. Six miles. It's what, 30-35 minutes for a good
runner? That doesn't leave a lot of "hanging out with Murray" time.
I guess Selby ate burgers with old Murr for five minutes or so and then
went out & flagged a cab. Yes, he did "win" the race.
