So that's where Benji's been hiding all these years.

Seriously, bottom of the portrait... looks like a hand?

Yes, on another forum someone thought it looked like a human arm. I
initially thought that was a rock on which the (small) dog was
standing, but I can also see how that's supposed to be the (larger)
dog's front leg.

Looks like the dog is wearing a sweater vest, in addition to having
long front legs.and a ghost like face.

Are you sure it's a portrait?
My guess is that it's actually some kind of magic mirror reflection of
"Jacob".

If you look closely you can see that Jacob drew an ace jack, suited.

Didn't Vincent once bring back a human arm out of the woods?

I really can't see too much - it's all blurry.

Nope. I'm gonna need to see more pictures or the dog from a different
angle; otherwise, I'm going to say that it looks like a regular ol'
basset hound or perhaps it's larger cousin the coon dog.

looks NOTHING like a basset ( I own one).

& bassets do not remotely sit like that.... & they have reallly short fat
legs.

not even close in color to any basset I ever saw.

No, we don't care about inspecting an interesting room. All we care
about is insulting Ben. Then we run like a scared rabbit.

I'm not convinced it is a dog. It certainly looks like a dog, but it
could also be a willow tree with empty spaces where a dog's eyes and
nose would be. If it is a dog, it has whiskers longer than any dog
I've ever seen.

This comes from Lostpedia ( http://lostpedia.com/wiki/Lulu ):
<Begin quote>
Ms. Honolulu, "Lulu", is a female Airedale-terrier mix adopted by
director Jack Bender. She is often seen around the set of Lost and has
become a mascot of sorts to the cast and crew. Lulu is often on the
set of Lost, and avoided rules restricting animals from sets by being
cast in "I Do", although Lulu was not visible in the final cut of that
episode. She was seen in the background of "The Cost of Living" when
Eko returned from the airport. Lulu was also featured in a promotional
still for "The Man from Tallahassee". A painting of Lulu was featured
in "The Man Behind the Curtain", in Jacob's house.
