Look at the logo at the top of the page, where the moon should be.
It's very familiar.

Well, fact is, one of the more intelligent and good looking people on
this newsgroup
(ahem)
had been advocating a theory that Alvar Hanso is the leader of a cult
which incorporates Yoga into its beliefs.

Check ou the thread called CULT THEORY

Namaste! And Good Luck!

I don't think this is a true website sponsored by lost. IT should be
Hanso... not hamsa. JMO

That's the WHOIS registry information for the domain. Just shows who
it's registered with and such. Been owned since 1998 (well before lost)
by somebody who definately does not seem to be associated with ABC or
disney or whatever.

It's just a yoga dude...

No one said that it was.
It's just more verification of the yogic imagery found on the show.

Oh ok. But I still don't get the yoga thing. Must be way above my head.

Something about the word Dharma, and the symbols used, has everybody
all riled up with anything that remotely looks like it might have
something ot do with any kind of "eastern" realm of thought.

Don't worry. It's over my head and I'm a Buddhist.

The shape of the Dharma logo, the number 108, and Dr. Candle's
salutation "namaste" seem
drawn from yoga tradition.

In the "cult theory" Alvar Hanso is the leader of a cult which mixes
western science and eastern mysticism (and maybe even a little Greek
Mythology). The word "Alvar" means a type of saint in Indian (IIRC)
culture, so Hanso may have changed his name at one point.

Cgeck out the thread called "CULT THEORY" for all manner of speculation

alonf these lines, including links to web pages giving information of
the significance of the number 108.

I think I pretty much read all the cult threads. Everything did not sink in
right away. Thanks for making it more clear to me.

You thought the Dharma logo was the logo to use a Swan?

If this guy created that logo I think he might have a heck of a lawsuit
against ABC.
