Then that plane crashed there before Zip Codes first came into use in
1963. Before Zip Codes, you used to write the zone number after the
city or borough, followed by a comma.
So before 1963, you would write
Bronx 60, N. Y.
whereas today we write
Bronx, NY 10460
It's surprising though. In 41 years, the pseudo-priest's body should
have decomposed more than it did. And I would expect the batteries in
the plane's radio should have died, making it impossible for Boone to
use the radio.

It's possible that the box was manufactured long before the crash,
however.

might point to? Coordinates or zone numbers?

Well, USPS says it's not a valid US zip code (though as Steven
pointed out, the box appears to predate zip codes anyway). But
Google says 48013 is Bloomfield Hills, MI. Either the USPS online
zip info is a lot flakier than I thought, or 48013 is in some
alternate dimension near Detroit.
If it's a FIPS code (assigned by the US federal government to
identify geographic entities), it's Atascosa County, Texas, but I
don't see any reason for it to be a FIPS code; I'm not sure what
they're used for aside from Census data.
DIN also stands for Deutsche Industrie Norm, a collection of German
standards, some widely used internationally. (They show up a lot in
electronics, for example.) And PIN could be "Part Identification
Number", so these could just be information about the contents.
The Canadian government apparently assigns "Drug Identification
Numbers" to drugs, but that seems even more of a stretch.
May not mean anything, though if "BRONX 60" wasn't chosen to mean
something, I'd suspect they copied the whole thing off a real box, or
just used some old box from the prop room. That is, I suspect either
"BRONX 60" is significant to the plot (unless it's just a DYN for our
amusement), or "DIN 48013" means something (though perhaps not
anything significant to the plot).

No, you couldn't say that of the whole plane, only of that box. I've
got stuff in my house that's labeled pre-ZIP, but that says nothing
about the dwelling, its occupant, etc.

old driver's license. That is assuming you want to believe that the
"kidney incident" happened circa 1997 or later.

If "Bronx 60" is an address then the box was being reused
to contain something else, as the priest had a Glock pistol
and the first Glock prototype for the Austrian military wasn't
made until 1982.
Thou since the printing on the box is so clear compared to
all the other crates, I'd have to think that the writers put
there for a reason.
By the way, the crate that Bald Guy has his right hand on
has 'DANGER' printed on it very faintly.
