.Was Jack's "ex?" wife the lady in the photo with Desmond that we see
before Jack runs after Desmond? Why all of the conversation about the
wife and that Jack isn't married anymore and then Jack gets emotional
about it... ?. Could she have left Jack and ended up somehow with
Desmond? Desmond said he has been on the island only 3 years.. I freeze
frame on the photo and I think it looks somewhat like Jack's woman..
but then again.. who knows.

Any ideas?

Dead on, my thoughts exactly.

As soon as it showed the pic, I said, That's Sarah!

Then Jacks reaction to chase after Desmond clinched it for me.

Really? I thought that but I don't think it looked like her.

Yep, my first thoughts, too.
And why he pointed the gun at him - there was no reason to do that.

It definately wasn't Jack's wife. It was the woman who tried to adopt
Claire's baby:

Oh, my god, you're right. Nice that they cast someone with distinctive
features. Often it's hard to tell TV actors apart, especially in
stills, because they cast the same types all the time, but this woman
is quite distinctive and it is indeed her. The plot thickens.

One quick addendum. Has Claire been doing button duty or is she on
maternity leave? Probably the latter to explain why she hasn't seen
that picture. Then again, I doubt they've left it out in plain sight.
It's probably not hidden, but they don't seem to be doing the obvious
which is to show it to everyone so they'll recognize Desmond if they
should happen to come upon him in the jungle. Maybe sooner or later
someone will get the idea to do that and Claire will recognize the
woman with him.

Wow, you're right. Except that's yet another twist they will have to explain
in future episodes. TBTB don't have enough time in hour long episodes they
air only TWICE A MONTH to explain all the tie-ins and mysteries that already
have. The Desmond episode was the first one this season, right. What are we
on now, the 13th episode? They still haven't touched the Desmond thing since
that episode. And I know that on the island it's only been a few days, but
it's not fair to the audience to give a little hint, then not talk about
that again for 11 or 12 episodes. I think they are forgetting some of the
clues they've left long ago and we'll never know.

In fact, in the last episode, when Claire asked Locke if she could take
some time in the bunker, Locke said "No." If the woman in the photo is
indeed the woman who tried to adopt Claire's baby, it's pretty sneaky of
the writers to have Locke deny Claire any time in the bunker, so she
won't see the photo.

no she doesn't. The closest any character has come to looking like
that photo is the woman who was trying to adopt Claire's baby.
That is it... No one else even looks close.

You don't understand me. I'm not telling that woman on the picture is
Shannon - i'm only saying that woman who was trying to adopt Claire's baby
looks quite like Shannon.

PS. Sorry for my English :)

Claire has yet to go into the bunker; a couple weeks ago she asked
Locke if she could go in there for awhile (to get some distance from
Charlie) and Locke told her the alarm going off every couple hours
would be bad for the baby.

lol Just go rent the '90s 'Lord Of The Flies' and give up on this series.

Or go nuts. Is it possible that the hallucinations are linked to
spending too much time in that bunker? And that Locke is beginning to
realize it? Has Charley been doing Claire's button time?

1) Lostaways were hallucinating long before they had access to the
hatch. 2) Locke's spent more time in the there than anyone, but he
hasn't been shown to be suffering any effects.

I prefer the non-crapped-up version from the 1960's, myself.
