There will be a wedding next season, "earlier than many are predicting."
Most people take this to mean anywhere between episode #1 to around
episode #5 or #6, which would be about the first week of November
sweeps period.

Brad Buckner said in a chat room that (i) the wedding episode will
be devoted substantially to the wedding event itself; and (ii) that
FoLC shouldn't get their hopes up about an elopement in the premiere
episode. Both of these statements seem to point towards a
continuation of this New Krypton arc in the 2-hour premiere, so the
earliest we will see a wedding is probably episode #2 or #3.

If anybody out there knows, when will November sweeps start
this year? I read somewhere that August sweeps are actually
going to be moved up to July this year. If that's true, maybe
November sweeps get moved up too, making a wedding in episode
#2 or #3 even more logical.

Because there's no word that they _are_ getting married in the first
episode. Last I heard, it was going to be the fourth.

And what's one supposed to say about it? Half the people here will
probably object to them having sex, while the other half will want
pictures.

They're screwing around with this year's summer sweeps period because of
the Olympics. I don't think they'll touch November, though; the nets have
already made their scheduling plans.

BTW, I see Fox is pitting NED & STACEY and THE SIMPSONS against L&C next
year. No contest there.

My great aunt once said talking to yourself isn't a problem. It's
when you start answering yourself that you should worry. Anyway,
here goes:

November sweeps run from October 31 to November 27 this year.
"August" sweeps run from July 11 to August 7, if anyone cares.

Sunday, November 3 would be the first L&C sweeps episode,
assuming it isn't pre-empted that week. In previous seasons,
that would make it somewhere between episodes 6 and 8. It's
doubtful they'll wait that long for the wedding, especially with
many people's attention being on the elections around then.
I think it'll be somewhere between episode 2 and 5.

i'm not sure about this, but I'm pretty sure I read somewhere (probably
in Wizard) that the powers that be are withholding the TV wedding to
coincide with the comic book wedding. Apparently Dc has a tremendous
publicity advantage here by having the two occur at once. Not much of a
fan of the comics, but haven't they broken off the engagement and Clark
gotten back with a mermaid or something?

The mermaid--Lori Lemaris--has indeed re-entered Clark's life, and was
sharing an apartment with Lois the last I checked. There is no romance
between them anymore, although her return certainly added to the tension
Lois was going through.

occur? Given they haven't written the season opener yet and given ABC's history of
interference with the show I'm feeling a little uneasy about a wedding being delivered
early in the season. I know a producer with the show told KalElFan to shout out the
early wedding news for season 4 but there's a lot of time until season 4 begins filming
and it doesn't look to me that there has been a lot of planning done for it yet which
tells me everything is still up in the air. IMHO, the show needs an early wedding to set
the stage for season 4 (i.e. a year of married L&C) so I hope Kal is correct. I'm betting
that the wedding will be during sweeps as I believe ABC kayboshed a wedding in OW because
it did not fall during sweeps..I can't see them letting another ratings grab go to waste.

i don't know about the comics but i have heard from many
people(including the writers!)that they ARE getting married early next
season. its possible on the season opener.

There will be a wedding, but how early is early is still up in the
air. It could be as late as the first episode of November sweeps
and still not violate the spirit of what I was told.

Actually, the rumor is that it was originally supposed to be in
FMN. Depending which writers return next season, the rumor
may become even more credible. Brad Buckner said recently
that a few of last year's writers will be back and that they'll
be a few new ones.

******IMHO*******

I think that kinda sux. This is the NEW Adventures of Superman--why
should DC have so much publicity advantage, huh? If that's so, shouldn't
Lois be going off to be with Spiderman right about now? I don't think DC
should have THAT much to do with L&C, cuz L&C is a NEW show all its own.

The editor of the Superman comics has said publicly that they are NOT trying to get
the two weddings to coincide. Apparently the time logistics to make that happen
are too difficult, since the comics are written months before their release, to
give time for the inkers, colorists, proofreaders and colorists to do their stuff.

I have heard the same thing. I think it would be a good
idea for the comics and TV to do it together - and to do it soon!

By the way, in the comics Clark recently found out
that an old love of his, Lori Lemaris, is still alive. (She is
a Mermaid, from an Atlantis type city. There are severeal of
these in the DC Universe). Clark did kiss her for a vrief moment
during a highly emotional moment, but he and she are not
getting romantically involved. Lori is a telepath, and realizes
that Clark still loves Lois.

In recent issues, Clark and Lois have begun to talk
about the issues that led to their breakup, and I am left with
the impression that they are moving towards a reconcilitation in
the next few months.
