This looks to me like a jenuine fan is looking for information, so please,
bilingual people, translate in English whatever it is that she is asking us
and explain to her our answer. Thank you a lot Zoe

This is what a mashine translation has given me:
More than a fan sfegatata of Dean Cain, they are one fan of Lois &
Clark. However I must say that it is not not bad. You have seen it also
in other films? Hello, Nene. But why it sends messages without a "
precise sense "?
A human touch is definitely needed. What is "sfegatata" anyway? I
would really like to communicate with Nene. Please help
Please post to news:alt.fan.dean-cain (a brand new group for Dean Cain

Hello, Steve
Congratulations to being the first person with an aol address to appear
on alt.fan.dean-cain We did have some aol-ers, but they had to go
through Deja News.
I checked out the photo of the David Letterman fans gtoup. I also saw
your photos of animals. They're all lovely.
I appreciate your warning of the humor attempt above, which of course is
expected of a Letterman fan. Unfortunately that attempt was in Italian
which I do not understand. Not that I would necessarily understand
every attempt at humor in English, but I am trying.
My machine translation of Italian into English may also be understood as
an attempt at humor:
Finally someone that speaks Italian, reading to a message in English I
have presumed to understand and have answered even if I seem questions I
am a message without precise sense. Also you six one fan of Dean Cain?
or he has only made curious my message to you without sense? Hello, Anto
Nene has written in the message <7cqkkb$rc4$1...@nslave1.tin.it>...
Antonella Paganelli has written in the message
<7cp84p$gpd$1...@nslave1.tin.it>... Who that what? who has been to
underwrite this newsgroup? Who wat' s? who is been \ \
this newsgroup? Excuse-me
for my english Antonella, but that what devil you wanted to say? Hello,
Nene
Please have mercy and help put some more sense into it. Thank you

Sorry. Doesn't translate well. I wasn't aware of the cross-posting,
either.
I was asking how you say gapped-tooth weasel in Italian, the joke of
course being that it was in Italian.
Letterman jokingly refers to himself as a gapped-tooth weasel.
> A human touch is definitely needed. What is "sfegatata" anyway? I

Hi! I'm an Italian FoLC, maybe I can help you.
The translation is:
Antonella:
(apparently in reply to a previous message in English she didn't understand
- the one with "who?")
Who what? (are you asking) who subscribed this newsgroup?
Nene:
Antonella, what the devil did you want to say?
Antonella:
At last someone who speaks Italian, reading a message in English I thought
I understood and I replied. Even if it looked like a question, it was a
message without a real meaning. Are you too a fan of Dean Cain? Or my
message without meaning just made you curious? Bye, Anto
Nene:
Rather than an ardent fan of Dean Cain, I am a fan of Lois & Clark. Anyway
I must say he's not bad! Have you ever seen him in other films? Bye, Nene
But why do you send messages without a real meaning?? ;-)))
(sfegatato means passionate, ardent, keen, fanatical)
Hope I was of help!

I don't really know what you mean by weasel, my dictionary says it can
mean someone who spies
other people, a sneaky person. Thus the translation in Italian can be
something like "una persona
subdola senza un dente" that is a sneaky person without a tooth. Is that
correct?
Well, sneaky or disreputable person is close enough. He has teeth,
except for one fake tooth. There's a gap between the upper two front
teeth (incisors, I believe).
We're talking about David Letterman here, obviously, not Dean Cain.

Don't worry Zoe, I just asked Antonella what the hell she wanted 'cause even
the italian part of the message wasn't understandable.
She just said that she was happy that someone sent her a msg written in
italian and then she asked me wether I was a fan of Dean Cain or if I just
wrote her because of her weird msg. So I told her that I loved his
performance in LnC and that I think he's a darn nice guy.
That's all, but if she'll ask something I can't answer I'll translate her
request and I'll let you help her.
Ciao, Nene

Cross-posting is sometimes the only way to reach alt.fan.dean-cain as a
new group has not yet been picked up by many service providers. I am
greatful for the responsiveness and kindness of Letterman fans.

I do get it, thank you very much.
Would you please do me another favor. Try to access alt.fan.dean-cain
and let me know if you have it on your server. AOL is very important to
us. I really appreciate your help. Thank you

It's probably not accessible from AOL. I actually use my AOL address
on my AT&T account to post to newsgroup. The fact that I'm
crossposting shows that I'm not using AOL, because AOL does not allow
cross posting.
Hi, Madsen! I'd like to use this occasion to say Good Bye to the other
groups. Letterman fans are wonderful, but I feel like I've imposed enough.
If I feel that I have to answer some unanswered questions, then I'll put them
on the board of alt.fan.dean-cain . If your service provider won't give you
access, you can reach us through Deja News by typing (or copying) into Power
