It's called "for convience's sake" that Lois remembers her working
relationship with Clark and not the romantic relationship. It's
only purpose is, as you mentioned (and I deleted), to strech things
out even longer, prolonging the inevitible. This type of thing
works on soap operas, and worked on "Cheers", but it didn't work
for "Remington Steele" and certainly isn't working well (IMHO)
for L&C. I still watch, but it's with a "ho-hum" attitude :-(.

Engage Romulan .sig cloaking device....
I used to watch Lois-n-Clark by myself on tape after church. (It comes
on right after church and I need to visit with other people.) Now,
there are about ten people getting together to watch the show, and they really
like it!
I like the way the last shows have all been connected. Some of the people
in the group really don't like the endings and the silly ploy's that have
conspired to give such divergent storylines.
Let's not be stupid here folks: Lois is not going to marry the doctor, The
show is not driving people away in mass, L&C is not going to turn into a
Soap Opera. Yes, we have seen our share of plot gimmicks in the last four
episodes. But, the focus of the show is still the same, and it is still
good wholesome intertainment!
I do enjoy reading all of these complaints. I think it is real neat that
we have this forum to spout off or praise our favorite bits and pieces!
