If this has already been discussed and i somehow missed it, i'm sorry.
But if not, did everyone know that the guy who killed that woman and
left her on top of the elevator was Alan's brother? Can't recall his
name but he played a defense attorney quite recently as well.

There is a strong family resemblance.

sincerely,
jane

What? Do you mean "Vengeance," from Season 2? The actor playing the guy who
killed the girl is James Rebhorn, no relation to Alda AFAIK. The woman playing
the killer's wife is Rutanya Alda. She's not related either, but if she was I'm
sure she wouldn't be his brother.

<resemblance or not>

But wasn't Alda's brother *in* a L&O episode as a racist bomber who explodes
a chemical bomb in the NY subway ? The second part of that story was a
H:LOTS (which I unfortunately never saw).

Just for the record, according to the IMDB, Alan Alda's
brother is named Antony Alda. He guest-starred along with his father,
Robert Alda, on an episode of MASH.
He never appeared on Law&Order, according to the IMDB. The
last listing for him in 1993.

Rutanya Alda (also known as Ruth Alda) is no relation to the
above mentioned Aldas.

Are you sure about this one ? AFAIK, he had a bit part as a janitor or a
plumber prior to becoming Emil Skoda...

He also had a bit part as a police technician.

double check that. I am almost positive we only saw JK Simmons in a photograph
in "Charm City" (standing next to his sailboat) and we didn't see him until
the "H:LOTS" part of the story.
The bomber Lenny and Rey caught was Brian Egan, played by Kevin Geer.

Simmons only L&O appearance was in "Sanctuary" as Jerry Luppin.
