Did anyone else find this totally predictable (as usual)? I knew the
father in law was the guy sleeping with the daughter in law before the
episode was half over. I was surprised, though, that it was her husband
that murdered her.

I guessed that her husband killed her within the first 10-15 minutes, after the
husband first appeared. His body language did him in.
Mariska Hargitay was a little more tolerable in this episode, I only hated
Olivia twice in this ep, a record low for her. Maybe because she didn't have as
many bad lines as usual.
SVU has had some wonderful work from headlined guest stars before (Bebe
Neuwirth, Tracy Pollan), but Misleader is one of the first times I've ever been
completely surprised by a more unknown performance. Anne Twomey, who was Sharon
Hadley, the mother and wife. She was incredibly, particularly in her final
scene with Robert Foxworth. After so much restrained and mediocre acting from
the regulars, Anne came in and turned the entire premise down. She's been on
L&O 3 or 4 times, but I never noticed her until tonight. Superb.

Yes.
I actually said, right along with the wife, "Not my son, my husband," like you
couldn't see that one coming a mile away.
I did like Munch's hat though.
predictably, luna

I did, but only because it was based on a local case. Here in Michigan,
one of the local Christian schools had practically the same thing happen
to them. The only difference is that in the real-life case, the
daughter-in-law killed herself instead of the husband killing her.

It was certainly predictable to me since it was the story of the real-life
affair between George Roche, the president of conservative Hillsdale
College in Michigan, and his daughter-in-law Lissa Roche.
There were some differences. Lissa Roche committed suicide (or so it
seems) and she wasn't pregnant. George Roche had already divorced his
son's mother and recently married another woman, which may have triggered
Lissa's suicide. But the affair that went on for years, the cuckolded son
working for his dad, the fact that the dead woman was closer to her
father-in-law and a better fundraiser than her husband was, the hypocrisy
- all true IRL.
I enjoy "ripped from the headlines" story lines in L&O and SVU but not
when the real-life story is followed so closely that it destroys any
element of surprise. I liked the way that L&O used to start out with a
real story then throw in a twist, like the episode that started out with
the Menendez brothers' story, then goes off in a totally unexpected direction.

Agreed, she was good. Does anyone recall her other guest spots? Was she the
mother in the ep with the rich family and the drugged up daughter who really
was the granddaughter?
