As many of you know, Judith Light is currently appearing on Law
and Order: Special Victims Unit as Chief Assistant District Attorney
Elizabeth Donnelly, and after a post on Ms. Light's board concerning
"SVU" there, coupled with the fact there never figures to be an
official reunion of "Who's The Boss", I wonder if Dick Wolf (creator
of "L & O" and it's spinoffs) has thought of the idea of possibly
doing an unofficial reunion of "Who's The Boss" on "SVU" of at least
Ms. Light and Alyssa Milano (who played Ms. Light's daughter on that
show)? To me, that would be very interesting, and I'm sure NBC would
LOVE to see that kind of a reunion happen if at all possible.
I have a poll question concerning this on Safe Searching at:
http://boards.safesearching.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=alyssa_milano&Number=57995&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1,
where you can vote on what you would would want to see Alyssa play if
she guested on "SVU" in a reunion with Ms. Light. These include her
being a suspect, victim, Dectective from another Police Precint,
defense attorney and "second chair" to Assistant District Attorney
Alexandra Cabot (Stephanie March). You have to be registered with Safe
Searching to reply to posts there, and possibly to vote.

Please don't make me have to watch Alyssa any more than necessary per week!
I struggle through her scenes because I like Charmed, but putting her on L&O
would be an insult to anyone who is on and has ever been on the
show--including those many viewers feel cannot (could not) act like Angie
Harmon, Elisabeth Rohm and more!

While I agree Alyssa is not anywhere near as good as her co-stars on "Charmed",
this is a specific situation on "SVU."
Since there probably will never be a "Who's The Boss" reunion movie (a lot of
people actually want to see that happen apparently, but from what I read Alyssa
never wants to do that), since Judith Light is now on "SVU", to me, the next
best thing would be to have her former TV daughter guest star with her on
"SVU." While I personally think several of her co-stars are better actors (as
if I were Dick Wolf, I'd be going all-out to get Holly Marie Combs to join "L &
O" as the next ADA as soon as "Charmed" ends and I also like the idea of their
co-star Dorian Gregory in that role if they ever decide to go with a male ADA
again), Alyssa is by far the most popular of ALL the actors on "Charmed", as
shown on her board at Safe Searching, which you can see for yourself at:
http://boards.safesearching.com/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=alyssa_milano&PHPS
ESSID= where sometimes threads can get knocked to the second page of the main
board in an hour or less!
Alyssa would almost certainly bring a ton of her "Charmed" fans with her to
"SVU" for such a guest appearence (and NBC would promote the hell out of such
an episode), and it's the same reason I would be trying to get Shannen Doherty
to guest on the regular "L & O" as a defense attorney as well.

This is Walt's personal little obsession. He's annoying, but
harmless.

That's all right--they ask the same thing at Charmed since he was suggesting
she be on SVU which is an L&O spin off!
Personally, I'd rather not see her at all!

Not at all!! What I do know is, stars of the WB shows in general have extremely
loyal followings with their fans, which I have found do follow them to other
projects (this includes the current ADA, played by Elisabeth Rohm, who used to
be on "Angel"). Ms. Combs proved this herself last year when the remake of
"Oceans 11" came out, as while her appearence was just a cameo at the very
beginning, she brought a ton of "Charmed" fans to see the film just because she
was in it, never mind the fact the film itself actually starred Brad Pitt,
George Clooney, Andy Garcia, Matt Damon and Julia Roberts (and speaking of
"Charmed", their premiere last Sunday scored a 5.2 rating, the highest ever I
believe for a Sunday program on the WB, this in spite of the fact the second
hour of the "Charmed" season premiere aired directly opposite the Emmys, the
Sunday Night Football game on ESPN and the second season four episode of "The
Sopranos" on HBO, which got 11.2 MILLION viewers, second all-time on pay-cable
to the season four premiere episode a week earlier that got 13.4 million).
That's why I think when "Charmed" ends, Ms. Combs (who I think is a much better
actor than Ms. Rohm) would be the best choice to take over as the ADA, as she
would bring her "Charmed" audience with her.
Just so you'll hear from the other side - I like Alyssa Milano. I'm not
sure I'd like her on any of the L&Os, though, since I see her more as a
comic actress. I do think that she'd be better than Holly Marie as an ADA
(sorry, Walt <g>). At least in the few episodes of Charmed that I've seen,
Holly struck me as having a pouty, helpless, "rescue me" air that seemed
inconsistent with the empowered persona I'd like to see in an ADA. Alyssa
struck me as a stronger character. Although if they used any of the Charmed
co-stars, I'd prefer Shannon Doherty. So my preferences for an ADA would
be: first Shannon, then Alyssa, and then Holly.

I agree Shannen (correct spelling) would be great as an ADA, but I see her more
likely guesting as a defense attorney. I could also see her, however, taking
over down the road on the cop side on one of the three shows, if she wanted to
do another series (which from my understanding she doesn't want to do for a
while, though I could always be wrong).
As far as Holly, did you see either the season five premiere of "Charmed" or
the follow-up episode (which if you didn't repeats Tuesday 10/1 at 10:00 PM New
York Time on TNT)? Holly practically dominated the season five premiere (in a
good way) in what was the best episode of "Charmed" since Shannen was let go
from the show. I've said many times here how I think she'd be great as Jack's
assistant on "L & O" if she were given the chance, and this also would not be a
foriegn area to her. She played a law student on "Picket Fences" for four
seasons from 1992-'96, and although I never saw that show, many have said she
carried it during its four seasons, and it did win 16 Emmys I believe, so
something was going right there.
As for Alyssa, the idea for that one is specific to "SVU" because of Judith
Light (her former "Who's The Boss" co-star) being on that show. I think she'd
be OK as an assistant DA (and definitely no worse than Elisabeth Rohm, who
isn't nearly as bad as some think), but I think Holly is simply a better actor
and would prove it if she got the chance.

==> Upcoming show in 2003 for Sci-Fi Channel but not a series, more of a
Candid Camera type of thing

going a bit out in left field!

==> Correction, she played a high schooler who worked in a law office for
a season, possibly two, in the sense that she worked with the local cornball
attorney--played by Fyvush Finkel. She was a high school kid in the
show--playing a 16 year old in the beginning--she had not even finished
college by the time the show went off the air.

==> She was by no means the reason the show won the emmys. Sorry to burst
your bubble Walt, I watched the show all the time--Kathy Baker, Lauren
Holly, Fyvush Finkel, and others were far more prominent and responsible for
the show--as was the writing and the quirkiness of the program itself. It
was a good vehicle for Holly, but she was by no means the reason for the
show's success.

==> But, I don't think reuniting them on the show would be of any value--as
I don't think Alyssa could hold up her end and keep the standards of the
shoe.

I think she switched back and forth--I recall she talked a lot with Kathy
Baker's character's office mate one season. She was a high
schooler.....hell, college aged students don't know what they want to do and
change their majors on average 2-3 times, so I guss expecting a high
schooler--in a David Kelly production--to know what she wanted to do, was
probably a little premature.
