Review of "Identity" (Tuesday, January 18, 2005 NBC Episode of "SVU")

This episode opened with a couple of men looking heading for a club that
appeared to be closed at 2:30 in the morning when a body hit the windshield.
The victims turned out to be Luis Vega, who had deep bit marks in his personal
parts.
(One note about the opening scene for "Apprentice" fans: If you look
carefully, the bridge that was in the background was the same area where they
had Jennifer Massey talking about what they were doing on the show in one of
the later episodes of the just-aired second season).
Back at SVU Headquarters, it turned out that Vega had a criminal record, and
they talked with a woman who tried to become a member of the Stone Cold
Assassins (the game Vega was in) named Claudia, who had charged rape against
Vega before dropping it out of fear she'd be killed if she didn't. Elliot and
Olivia then talk with two teenage girls who claimed that a homeless girl who
was part of the group whom was also deaf named Katie that was thought to be the
one who pushed Vega. They are talking to Katie when she runs away, then talk to
Katie's friend Betty after Katie runs away, with it turning out that Betty had
records of many people whom they were going to try and steal the identity of.
The woman who was helping Katie in her shelter came back to inform Elliot and
Olivia that Katie was dead, with her body cut up, and it being discovered it
was a man that actually killed Luis. The part about a man doing the bite marks
was a surprise to me.
The woman then pointed Olivia and Elliot to the man (Hector Ramirez) who
killed Katie, who called Katie a liar. Hector then did note that Katie appeared
to see who actually killed Luis, and it turned out when Elliot and Fin were
there stumbled upon new initial that led them to a kid calling himself "SYKO"
named Logan Stanton, who was a teenage boy. In interrogation, Logan claims it
was someone else who stole his signature, and it turns out Logan was actually
home, but it also turned out that Logan was the one who bit Luis. Dr. Beth
Hendrix (Mary Stuart Masterson) is with Elliot and Olivia throughout this.
Elliot and Olivia are then at Logan's home when Logan goes nuclear, including
breaking what looked like a glass vase and then it looking like Logan's sister
lied about where he was the night before. Beth calls for Logan to be taken to a
facility where he can be checked out.
Olivia is next with Logan's twin sister (Lindsay), who had punched Elliot in
the ribs. It turned out she was going by "SYKE", and she noted how Luis had
tried to rape her, and it turning out it was her and not Logan who was raped by
Luis, or at least she claimed except for the fact that Logan's DNA was on Luis.
Beth is next with Elliot and Olivia as Logan is brought into a room where
Elliot then talks to him while Beth and Olivia was watching. Beth then talks
with Elliot and Olivia when Casey walks in, with Beth asking Casey to get a
subpeona, especially after Beth finds out Logan and Lindsay were seeing a sex
therapist.
Elliot and Olivia are then with Logan and Lindsay who are talking while Casey
and Beth are watching when the therapist (Dr. Blair) walks in, teed off that
Beth overstepped her bounds.
Elliot and Olivia then are talking with the twins nanny, who tells them how
they were tough. Other nannys then note how Lindsay apparently had a lot of
problems in particular, with one of them noting how Lindsay had some scars, and
also how Lindsay was given what appeared to be birth control pills. After
Elliot and Olivia talk with the parents, they were teed off, and the nanny they
first talked to noted how Mrs. Staton had to be sedated not that long after.
The most startling discovery came later when Beth walked in, with it turning
out that Lindsay was actually a boy and not a girl as their birth certificates
were re-issued six months after they were born in 1990. She also noted it was
actually Lindsay who did bite Luis Vega and killed him.
The parents then talk to Eliott and Olivia, with their noting that there was a
freak accident at birth, and they did a sex change operation on Lindsay to try
and give him a normal life. Elliot and Olivia then talk with Dr. Blair, who
performed the operation in 1990. He tells Elliot and Olivia how he did the
operation and how they had to raise Lindsay as a girl.
We then see Casey talking with Lindsay as to what happened with Luis, with
Beth walking in and telling Lindsay the truth of her being a boy named Lucas
and there being an accident that caused the sex change operation, with Dr.
Blair furious and Beth losing her privilages at the hospital she worked at.
Elliot and Olivia then return to the SVU with Logan than noting that Dr. Blair
actually molested both Logan and Lindsay/Lucas. Logan noted how Dr. Blair made
the twins have sex with each other. Elliot and Olivia then have Dr. Blair in
interrogation where he doesn't deny any of the alligations at the hands of
Logan.
Casey at the end is with the woman who helped Katie noting about that trial as
well as Elliot and Olivia (after Casey noted to the Detectives how Dr. Blair
sat in jail for three days thanks to a clerk friend who lost the paperwork),
with it found out that Dr. Blair had been murdered by one of the twins, caught
on videotape. The question was which one as Logan and Lindsay/Lucas were now
identical boys as Lindsay/Lucas had stopped taking estrogen.
What an episode on all counts!!

I taped that episode, becauseI was not able to watch it at that time of
airing. But, today, when I was watching it, my tape stopped when the
twins were talking gibberish at the station. I was not able to see the
last 10-15 minutes of the episode. So, I came in here in hopes that I
could find someone to tell me what happened !!
