>KITT's "Jet sound" reproduced?

>No a man in Hollywood who does alot of cars for TV and Movies rigged the cars
>exhaust system and air flow to make the noise

really? I thought that the turbine sound was just dubbed in after the scenes
were fillmed!

Someone once told me that there is a contraption that you can attach to your
exhaust pipe, and although it's not exactly the same, it can give your car a
semi-KITT "jet" sound. He said it's kind of like those whistles that have the
swirling metal piece inside them. Has anyone seen or used anything like this?

I dunno about that. I lik taking things out of the exhaust to add power. That
may sound powerful, but so do those rice burners with the 1 inch exhaust. If
the sound your looking for is like a powerful wind whistling sound, you might
wanna modify your air intake system to have a ram air effect. That makes the
faint wind sound when you step on the gas.

In the very first episode of "Quantum Leap" Al's car made the EXACT same sound
that Kitt always did. I always wondered about that...

>Yes, you're correct! I was just wondering if it could be semi-reproduced.
>So
>it has at least a *little* of that "whoooosh" sound.

My grandma (god rest her soul) had a giant chrome upright vaccuum that also
sounded alot like a DC-10 airplane! I always figured that there was certianly
a way to wire up that baby under the hood with a voltage inverter to recreate a
turbine sound!

Yeah, it's dubbed. I've even got E-MAils asking me if my KITT car makes
that jet sound - they actually think that it did that in the show from
the car...
