How do you repair Knight 2000 voice car?

Does anyone have any information on how to repair the Kenner Knight 2000
voice car? I have one but can't get it to work. I have taken it apart
and can't figure out how the positive and negative wires are supposed to
go back. It looks like there is a spring-loaded pin that has to contact
one of the wires, but not sure how. Also, the record spins, but the
needle isn't making contact. How is the needle supposed to contact the
record? Someone please post some detailed photos of the repair procedure
or a link to website that tells how to fix the toy. Also, does Kenner
or any other company sell the voice box? I have the car in good shape,
but it would be so much nicer if it could talk. Any help is greatly
appreciated. Thanks

I have e-mailed whoever needs the repair, a detailed complete step by
step proceedure on how to disassemble, repair, and reassemble the car. I
didn't even get a reply. It took me quite awhile to write it. A thank
you would have been nice. Send me the car, and I will repair it for you.

I don't know if I'm the one to whom you are referring to in this message, but
if I am, I'm very sorry, but I did not get your e-mail. I assure you if I had
received it I would have been most greatful. Please forgive me for not
anserwing but I did not know you had sent it. Please be so kind as to recend

I have written an apology under the voice car repair subject. Pleas read
it. It explaines what happened. I apologize here also. This stupid webtv
box never actually sent the letter that I wrote! That pissed me off.

The message you're replying to is old and this newsgroup is basically
dead. The original person probably never even saw your request.

I don't know about this KITT voice car, but in most of these old
talking / sound toys it's the rubber / plastic band used to turn the
sound disc that wears out or disintegrates. Often it's as "easy" as
replacing that.
