"Knight Rider...a shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does
not exist. Michael Knight, a young loner on a crusade to champion the cause
of the innocent, the helpless, the powerless in a world of criminals who
operate above the law."
and
" 'One man can make a difference, Michael.' Michael Knight, a lone
crusader in the dangerous world... the world of the Knight Rider."
bits.
Can anyone help.
Thanks
Andy
The starting of the show's dialogue I believe was read by James Earl Jones
or
Wilton Knight.

The quote was a line in the pilot episode by Wilton Knight.
Both the opening and closing (most of first season was the only time the "
'One man can make a difference, Michael.' Michael Knight, a lone
crusader in the dangerous world... the world of the Knight Rider." was used,
they stopped it part way through, and we never saw it again) was ready by
Richard Basehart, who played Wilton Knight in "Knight Of The Phoenix" the
Series Premiere.

No offence intended to Mike, or anyone else, but I have no clue as to how
they can think it was him. I never thought that, even when I watched it as a
kid, and did not know who Richard was. Then, I saw him in "Voyage To The
Bottom Of The Sea" and put two and two together. Too bad that he was not
around long enough to have seen the entire KR series run (if he even watched
it).

LOL!!! Thanks!! LOL
>Oh and I love the T/A.. why don't you have the caps for the wheels?
If you are speaking of mine, for starters, thanks, for seconds, I do not
have the caps because I do not have the car anymore. lol
Actually, I sold it a couple of years ago. Not that I had the caps anyhow,
due to the fact the original owner could not find them.
But, I did not complain. She was in near perfect shape (when we were done
the engine work) only 86,404 original KM's when I bought it, and had
everything needed to make it a KITT car (except the caps, and it had a
manual Transmission). Had the hood scoop (no air-induction, just the scoop),
PMD's, Turbo's, Spoiler, T-Tops, everything. Just the colors were wrong
(black INSIDE instead of outside, and red outside), and I could not bring
myself to paint it. I did not have very much money at the time so I would
not have been able to give it the paint job it deserved. Plus, after I got
it professionally cleaned up (the paint) she shined like you would not
believe. Most of the pics on the site are from before that happened, so that
is why it looks so dull. But, trust me. When this guy was done, you could
make out freckles on your face at 100 feet away. ;-)
So, the whole 'can not afford DECENT paint' thing and a few other things
convinced me to sell it. I live in Ontario, and sold it to someone from
Manitoba, IIRC. Placed an add on www.knightregistries.com and found two
buyers for it, so I was pleased to say the least. lol
Well it sounded like a younger James Earl Jones... either way, it sounded
good...
matter of fact, they should use James Earl Jones to do the opening for the
movie.
Just my two cents.....
Mike
James Earl Jones?

Actually, I too believed that the voice was that of James Earl Jones.
In fact, right up until reading this thread I would have put money
down to say it was.
My girlfriend's just walked in the room and she's as surprised as I am
by this. We both believed it was James Earl Jones. The voice in Knight
Rider is just as deep as his and I can just imagine him talking into
the mike.
We've decided to watch Knight of The Phoenix tonight, just to be sure.

Back in the early 80s we to joke about this speech by writting it down
exactly has we heard it, like this ('Shhhh' is the sound of the speaker
breathing in):
"Knight Rider, Shhhh a shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man
Shh who does not exist. Micheal Knight, Shhhh a young loner on a
crusade to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless, the
powerless, Shhh in a world of criminals who operated above the law."

I'm sure ther're a few 'Shhh' in this one also. I Don't remember where.
