Boomhauer is his last name. The question is, what
is his first name.

The answer to that is, we just don't know yet! But I got a feeling
we're going to find out this season. It's just a feeling that I have.
Could be he probably doesn't even need a last name. It seems like cartoon
characters or characters from TV played by actors that don't have last
names are probably the coolest characters.

I'm thinking his full name is: Boom Hauer.

It isn't always necessarily important. For example, we didn't
discover that Moe's last name was Syzslak on The Simpsons until the seventh
season. Kramer's first name on Seinfeld wasn't discovered until the sixth
season.

Boomhauer's surname probably isn't terribly important because we've
never seen an episode centered around him, and he doesn't have many lines.
(Which makes sense. A whole episode of
talkinboutBOOMmanwhatyousayingmanthatkid'sjusta...yo. wouldn't go too far.)

I agree with an earlier post saying that 'Boomhauer' is probably his last name
and not his first name.

The show hasn't clarified Boomhauer's first name but his last name is almost
obviously: Boomhauer!
In America a person is sometimes referred to by using their last name.
"Hey Dana! Did you finish your homework?" was a common statement by my history
teacher. He used our last names to distinguish us from other people in class who
had the same first name. Sometimes we even call each other by our last names if
the individual doesn't like the sound of their first name and wants to be called
by their last name instead. Do you get it, Lombard?

You never had a friend you referred to only by his last name?

No, it makes perfect sense. These four guys have been friends since
childhood. He was called Boomhauer as a kid so he is Boomhauer now.
You've got Hank Hill, Dale Gribble, and Bill Dauterive. You do not have
Boomhauer Johnson, Boomhauer Smith, or Boomhauer Jones. Have you ever
heard a first name even remotely like Boomhauer? These guys were born in
Texas in the 1950s. I hardly think wacky names were the way to go in that
time and place.

I have an employee who only uses his last name. He has it on his
uniform, signs his email with it, and prefers not to use his (very
normal) first name.

I don't think anyone has brought this up yet, but has anyone ever
considered the possibility that Boomhauer may be his nickname and not his
real name? His real name may be John Smith, but everyone calls him
Boomhauer.

Of course, I could be wrong (I probably am), but there's always that
possibility.

Thanks, Bill for trying to help out. I guess my syntax was a little
misleading--I meant that the Transit Authority strings up razor wire
INSTEAD OF bob war, not that we call bob war the same thing as razor
wire. We watch enough Western movies and stuff to know that there's a
difference.

Itellyawhat, that there dang razor war ain't good enough either because
those boys what mark up the trains and all they get into those dang
tunnels when the ol' trains like laying-over waiting to go back uptown.
It's a cryin' shame but whatcha gonna do? Itellyawhat they never
shoulda gotten rid of those German Shepherds those worked great. But
that there Giuliani is one tough hombre and he'll think of somethin'.

Contrary to the belief of most ignorant Northerners, most Southerners
(including Alabamians) are not toothless hicks and we do not sit around
discussing things like "barbed wire". You goobers probably think we still
own slaves...

Yeah, didn't Alabama just approve the 14th amendment like last year. Most
Southern states are about 85% slave free. Hell, the cut KKK meetings to
only twice weekly and cross burnings are down 36%.

Are you going to start up a North vs. South flame war now?

We already had one civil war in this country, lets leave it that
way.
