Hi Everyone:
I have been home sick for the last 3 days and only watching TV instead being
online. Well this morning I happened to catch a local Baltimore show called
"Bottom Line" with Kweisi Mfume as the host. They do local Baltimore topics
targeted to African American's. Guess who was on today? Andre, Kyle, David
Simon, Gary D'Addario and The Baltimore Sun TV Reporter. How I am kicking
myself for not taping it.
Well now that I have heard it from the sources mouth, Andre saying in his own
words, he will not be back next year, I finally and sadly believe it. He said
he wants to get to know the people he is living with. (Wife & children) But
seeing Frank & Tim as Andre & Kyle was great, how different are they. Every
time someone asked a question for both of them, Andre says "Kyle, you answer
first." Very un-FrankandTim like. Andre the quiet one. And they were both so
absolutely cute. Kyle will be back next year and still be directing some.
They spoke of how faith, or disbelieve of it, in the real Homicide departments
plays a big part of this show being different than any other cop show on TV.
They also spoke of how "class" plays a part more than "race" in real life and
the same on H:LOTS. Andre's "wife" on TV is always pregnant because she is in
real life, Andre says with a cute smile. And Kyle jokes that they only had kids
because it was written in his contract from day one and that he had too.
Damn it why didn't I tape it because someone from the audience asked Andre &
Kyles' favorite episodes. Of course we knew what Kyle chose. He said once
Three Men & Adena was being shot he felt like it was like a play and not like
TV. That is when he fell in love with it. Andre also said that it was his
favorite too. Kyle also mentioned Every Mother's Son. They named about 4
others and stupid me can't think of them.
To me it seems that Andre is really going to miss it.
Also some woman from the audience thanked Kyle for a program he was working on
with her. It is a Childrens Memorial. When asked how he got involved he said he
was at a Zen Meditation clinic and this women approached him. She was saddened
about the 2 yr old boy who was killed last year while sitting in a barbers
chair in a drive by shooting. So she decided to start a memorial of all
children killed by violence in Baltimore and Kyle is her spokesperson. The
place has pictures and mementos of the slain children.
They spoke about being Emmy-snubbed and Andre said that isn't why they did the
show in the first place. He was OK with it (or so he says) They also talked
about the show portraying African American's in all types of positions in the
workplace and said it was groundbreaking in that aspect. And they talked of
how proud they were of not giving into NBC for packing the show up to LA and
making it all "sunny" and "bright" with that crappy California flair.
Kyle wouldn't budge on giving any information on Tim and what he called "what
team he decides to be on". He said he would have to make lifestyle choices
like a lot of people in the world. But he did keep joking that the writers hear
of things in their private lifes and incorporate that into the shows. Ummm,
wondering if that was the Peter Gallagher incident they were insinuating about?
Anyway, sorry to go on so, but it was a great show. Lots more was talked about,
but can't remember at the moment. Andre & Kyle were great.
Oh they did talk about how people go on pilgrimages to Fells Point to meet
everyone and they said that was because they catch the psyhcological aspects of
people and their lives.
Hope I catch a repeat because this one needs to be taped.

Thanks so much for posting this info on the newsgroup. I really enjoyed
reading about Kyle S. and Andre B.
I too think that Andre will miss this show. It's unique in its choice of
storylines and the slant it takes on them. Very few movies can pull off what
Homicide has done over the last few years.

Hi Carol:
The show was great today. It was cool watching from a very different
perspective. I really liked Andre and Kyle as themselves too. It was an hour
long but it could have went on longer for me. After watching today and what
they were talking about I think I am really going to miss the religious aspect
that Frank brings to the show. And I don't think I even realized that until
today.
If I think of something else that they spoke about today, I will post it.

Hey I caught most of the show too. It was pretty good. I think you
covered most of it. They joked alot about getting Kweisi to appear on
the show as the Gov of Maryland. Somehow though I wouldn't be
surprised to see him on in some small role, they do emphasize the
local Baltimore flavor.
Andre also spoke of wanting to get back on stage. I got the
impression he has some things in mind then perhaps go more to movies.
He said working w/ Spike Lee was a great experience and only said good
things about Lee.
They emphasized that there is fairly little violence on the show b/c
Homicide cops rarely get involved in shoot-outs and keeping the show
close to reality is a primary goal.

show Bottom Line that aired on Saturday February 27 that featured Andre, Kyle,
and others.

Thanks for your message. You need to call 1-800-4-videos to order a
VHS copy of the show. I don't think we give away transcripts. You'll
need to ask the receptionist. Also the tape will cost approximately
