Yes, it was one of the best shows of the previous season, and in this
household we fell in love with it despite not getting the hook set
until the second episode. There'll be a mini-marathon the evening and
night of 12/3 which runs later than you've indicated here but includes
duplications. There were 13 episodes overall:

A ringing endorsement from Dave! And I see Lori Petty is in it; I didn't
realize that. I like her a lot. John Glover is always interesting. And once
I get past the Peter Horton thirtysomething flashbacks, I usually enjoy him,
too. (How happy was I when he got killed!! .... and I understand on this
series, he starts out dead. So, I'm ahead of the game already).

I completely agree with Dave. Brimstone was great and was definitely my favorite
new show last season. I am thrilled to be able to catch those 13 episodes
again(time to buy some more videotape). The best thing about the show(besides
good writing, directing, and great lighting and camera work) was the fact that
the show kept getting better and better with each episode. The show just built
up so much momentum, and then got cut off at the knees by FOX. I was truly
hoping that this series would be put back into production by the Sci-Fi channel,
like they did with "Sliders," but I definitely have no trouble settling for the
repeats.

Yes, it did keep getting better from a quality standpoint, though by
the 2nd episode is was more than good enough (the first episode showed
a lot of promise, and delivered it). It kept getting friendlier to
the regular viewer, too. We quickly warmed to the roles played by
Peter Horton and John Glover and Lori Petty, the byplay between them,
and the increasing amounts of wit injected into the scripts -- both in
the dialog and in such storylines as the great episode about the car
from hell. It was a jewel of a series, and you betcha I'm going to
archive it on tape this time.
By the way, there's a great collection of "Brimstone" quotes at the

He was really good on this show. I never thought much of him
before but here he had a lot of screen presence as they say.
Gil, wondering who they are.

Thanks Dave. For some reason, I always forget about visiting IMDb for info on
tv shows. These quotes are great... I had forgotten how much wit and humor was
present in the show. I am really looking forward to Friday.

This seems like the perfect opportunity to note that the IMDB's added a bunch

Brimstone combined the best parts of Millenium and the Pretender. It was
funny and though formulaic - it was a brilliant formula. Trivia
tidbit: Det Ash has turned up on Felicity as Ben's new love interest I
keep hoping her alter ego will unleash itself and eat him
Is it a coincidence that both Bruce Campbell and Lance Henriksen have
played a character named Ash?

They haven't. Bruce was Ashley J. "Ash" Williams in the "Evil Dead"
series. Lance played the android "Bishop" in two of the "Alien"
movies, but it was Ian Holm who played the android "Ash" in the
original "Alien" (1979).
Steve Alterman played Ash on the "Kidd Video" 1984 TV Series. Anthony
Andrews was Lieutenant Brian Ash in the "Danger UXB" 1979 TV Series.
Giuseppe Andrews was Ash in "Unstrung Heroes" (1995). Leo Belcher was
Dan Ash in "Love's Old Sweet Song" (1917). Binnie Barnes was Sybil
Ash in "Tight Shoes" (1941). Elizabeth Berrington played Mrs. Ash in
"Urban Ghost Story" (1998). Colleen Coffey was Ash in "The Mosaic
Project" (1995). And that doesn't even count the ones spelled
"Ashe"...
Ah, that IMDb. Whutta database.
[snip lots of ashes]

What a simple but brilliantly manipulative dramatic conceit at the center of
that very enjoyable edge of your seat series. Loved every nail-biting minute
of it.

Hey, Todd! I don't care if you watch this one or not; please write it
in that you did... Pretty please, with Hydrox cookies on it.
Sci Fi Wire doesn't directly mention it, but with the promotion of
Bonnie Hammer there is the promise of more new programming.

Ah yes. Mixed up the two androids. Thanks for the clarification.

Ok, I have to ask.
Dear Mr. Sellout for Hydrox, Sir, what do you (an admitted neilsener)
think of the mass appeal of the "Who wants to be a $$$aire" program, and
it's apparent affect on future network programming?
take as much bandwidth as you need....

Haven't watched it. But for my money, the only game show worth
watching is Jeopardy, and that's my final answer. (And the only reason
I know that phrase is because everyone keeps doing bad Regis
impressions and saying, "Is that your final answer?"
Todd
Yeah, right. You've watched at least 2 questions being asked, babe, I'd
stake a nightmare on it...But I won't press the issue. I just was
wondering what you thought of the whole phenomenon....
morph- final answers come and go....some test time

That's a bet you'd lose. I can't even tell you when it airs. There's
a rule in my house: If mom repeatedly calls and tells me, "You've
gotta watch this show!" I avoid it like the plague.
Todd
P.S. Let's all raise our glasses to the dearly departed Gene Rayburn,
host of Match Game, who died yesterday at age 81. I always
appreciated his rather sleazy quality. It was a nice change from the
clean-cut quizmasters of old.
