Robin Hartl Exits "Hometime" After 12 Years
Hartl, Richard Karn Ink Long-Term Endorsement Agreements With Little
Giant Ladder Systems
MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 02/23/2005 -- Robin Hartl has
declined an offer to renew a contract for a 13th year as co-host of
"Hometime" -- one of the longest running home improvement television
shows aired on PBS, TLC, and in syndication. Hartl, a popular and
nationally recognized female home improvement expert, chose instead to
sign a long-term endorsement agreement with Little Giant Ladder
Systems.

"It was a relatively easy choice for me to make," said Hartl. "I
appreciated the opportunity to co-host "Hometime" for the last twelve
years -- an almost unheard of tenure in television. But I had
accomplished my primary goal and felt it was time to move on."

Hartl noted that when she started as one of the first women role
models in home improvement in 1993, women were seldom found wearing
"Toolbelts" much less prepared to do home repair. But today's
popularity and explosion of new home improvement television shows
doesn't surprise Hartl.

"Home improvement product manufacturers and distributors --
particularly Lowes and Home Depot -- know that women initiate 80
percent of all home improvement projects and generally represent half
of their customer base, and that single women have become the fastest
growing segment of single home buyers," reports Hartl. "The rise of
women's active participation in home improvement represents just
another area of life where women are gaining their independence and
aren't afraid to get their hands dirty. It's no surprise, then, that
women have become an increasingly important target market segment in
the home improvement marketplace."

Hartl is often seen as a role model for women in non-traditional
roles. In 2000, Hartl received the US Jaycees' "Ten Outstanding Young
Americans" Award, which recognizes and honors ten Americans each year
who exemplify the best attributes of the nation's young people, aged
21 through 39.

Hartl's relationship with Little Giant began in late 2003 when she and
Dean Johnson (Hartl's co-host of "Hometime") shot an infomercial for
Little Giant Ladder Systems, which began airing in early 2004 and
rapidly became the top ranked infomercial in the country. When Little
Giant replaced Mr. Johnson with Richard Karn ("Home Improvement's" Al
Borland) for its new infomercial, Ms. Hartl was offered the
opportunity to join Karn and signed a new agreement with Little Giant.

"I am excited about this agreement," commented Hartl. "The Little
Giant Ladder System is an amazing product and I am thrilled to be
representing it with Richard. I'm confident that its continued success
will provide me similar opportunities and the ability to work on
future television projects."

Hartl's duties for Little Giant include co-hosting the new Little
Giant infomercial with Karn, which began airing January 2, 2005. She
also began representing Little Giant on a new television segment
featuring the Little Giant on the Shop at Home shopping channel late
last year and will appear at trade shows and other events representing
Little Giant throughout the year.

Boy! ... THAT is what I would call a crock of
political BS. Robin was forced out because she was
dragging the ratings down, and took the first job
she could get. "Time to move on..." HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Now it seems that even Little Giant no longer has
any use for her specious guru status, since she has
completely disappeared from the newer infomercials
and home shopping network spots.

I don't wish the little fee-male ill will, but her
stage act wasn't paying off, so they both swept her
under the rug. The simple truth is, there is NO value in a first-woman
anything, except in deceit.

Interestingly enough, Hometime has regained much of
its former charm and Dean Johnson sure seems a lot
happier with his new (temporary) strap-on.
