Je pense que vous cherchez la chason "Bonny Portmore" de la chanteuse
Loreena McKennitt. On peut le trouver sur la disque "The Visit" (ou
"La Visite," peut-etre). Beaucoup de personnes nous demande ce
question.

(*g*), but mostly have been lurking for over a year...

*lol* Actually, I'm in a French class right now - I used to live in
Canada and learned French almost fluently in elementary school, but
forgot it all when I moved to the U.S.. I thought this would be a
good opportunity to practice, since my writing is far behind my
speaking...
Actuellement, je suis dans un classe de Francais maintenant. J'ai
habite a Canada et a apprenu la Francais pres de courrament en l'ecole
elementaire, mais l'a oublie quand j'ai demenage aux Etats Unis. Je
croix que c'etait un bonne opportunite de practiquer, parceque
m'ecriture est derriere ma parler...

What does Rod BrinD'Amour s last name mean? I looked up "brin" in a
english/french dictionary, and it said "strand or string". Amour, of
course, is love. "strand of love" ? is there a meaning to this, or is it
simply poetic?
(In case anyone's wondering, Rod BrinD'Amour is a winger for the
Philadelphia Flyers)

No wonder you were lost : "un brin" can also stand for "a chunk" or "a little"
you can say : "un beau brin de fille" : " a nice chunk of a girl"
or : "un brin d'amour" : " a little bit of love"
Would the guy be Canadian? Because they have kept more older french expressions
in their everyday language than we do, but that's what gives such a unique
flavour to the way they speak and that's also one of the reasons we love them
so much!!!!
