Now you kids didn't have a big party here while I was away did you?
Oh, ha ha ha....that's just mean.
Not as interesting as I'd hoped. I met with some casting directors and
spoke with a couple of stunt coordinators. Nothing has panned out so far
though. I went by the set of Smallville one night, but none of the main
cast were working. I was also supposed to go to the Smallville Christmas
Party Saturday night, but by the time my friend got there and phoned me, it
was 10:30, and I had to get up at 5am the next morning. So, sadly, I didn't
go...not that I'm bitter or anything.
I had fun out there, and really enjoyed Vancouver, but so far nothing has
come of it. No auditions, no calls to do any sword fighting on anything.
But who knows what the new year may bring.
Thanks - waving back.
{{{{hugs}}}} So sorry. I know *I* [cradle robber that I feel like] would have
*loved* to get a chance to get near Tom Welling. Growl. Niiiiiiiiiice.
Dorothy aka Rottweiler
Well I was more interested in meeting Alison Mack (who I love ever so much),
as well as getting the chance to meet Michael Rosenbaum and especially John
Glover (who I think is absolutely brilliant).
Christine from B.C. (always popping off for weekends in Vancouver)
Of course I did have my little HL moments when I was there. I went to
Gastown and visited the exterior of the Dojo.
I'm not sure yet when I'll be back in Vancouver, but hopefully it's sooner,
rather than later.
(also appeared in a short film that had a number of HL alumns in it)
Waitaminute.. let's back that up a bit. You had the chance to go to a
Smallville party and you passed it up because you were... sleepy?!?!
Hmm.. lessee, on the one hand you could go to SLEEP, something you do EVERY
SINGLE NIGHT OF YOUR LIFE, and on the other you have the chance to go to a SV
party knowing it's Rene's favorite show since HL and you could bring home lots
of wonderful stories to tell or even yank a lock of Tom Welling's hair out for
her... or something...
*sigh*
Somebody open a window..I'm getting dizzy. I think I'm having palpitations too.
When I was getting up at 5am the next morning to drive 10 hours through
snowy mountains to get home.
Really didn't want to be out all night partying. Basically anytime I'm in
Vancouver, as long as Smallville is still in production, I'll have the
chance to go to set or a SV party if there is one. I felt it was more
important to get home alive.
Well I guess you'll have to be forgiven.. this time. ;)

Welcome back! And I hope something does come through from your trip.

Thanks me too :)
That's right :)
Can you share details?
(I'd happily share my work details with you.. but the inner workings of a gyne
office are not necessarily as... interesting. Although, we do have a
top-secret "Dumb File" that is pretty darned entertaining.)
Oh sure. The film was written by Eric Johnson (who played Whitney on the
first season of Smallville) and his wife Adria. Eric also directed it, and
Adria was one of the producers.
It's called Fishbowl.
It follows a man named Michael on a journey of discovery. It starts out
drab and depressing, with a real sense of alienation. Then through a series
of events, Michael begins to discover that the world around him is full of
colour and beauty.
It's a 10 minutes short, and is hopefully going to play at the Toronto Film
Festival, Sundance and Cannes. I play Craig, Michael's co-worker.
It has a great script, and I think is going to be a very entertaining film.
Some of the HL alums involved that I know about are:
John Pyper-Ferguson - "Brian Cullen" in Courage
Tom Butler - "Andrew Ballin" in Eyewitness
Gary Chalk - "Lemoyne" in An Innocent Man
Lynda Boyd - "Karen" in Song of the Executioner
Of those, I only met Tom Butler...he was coming in just as I was leaving. I
worked he same day as John Pyper Ferguson, and my name is right under his on
the call sheet...but I didn't meet him. We shot at different locations, and
he was long gone by the time I was on set.

Thanks!
Which means I'll likely never get to see it. Too bad, it sounds interesting.

LOL.. well much of it is a bit too graphic (though comedic) for public
discussion. Besides, I'm afraid that what health care workers find hysterical
might not come off as quite to amusing to others.
Speaking of comedic health care stories.. Anyone else watching the new show on
FOX, "House?" I read it described as a cross between E.R. and C.S.I., and
that's pretty fitting. It's basically about an M.D. who's a diagnostic
genius.. but hates patients.. so he avoids direct contact as much as he can.
He has a young, but smart, staff that does all the dirty work for him. He also
has a bit of a Vicodin addiction. It's incredibly funny, but smart at the same
time. Hugh Laurie, who plays Dr. House is wonderful.. I really hope this show
makes it and that he gets some well-deserved recognition.
Oh ya never know, it might show up somewhere someday.
It's also one that Spousal and I watch together, the other three being WEST
WING, CSI and SCRUBS. (at least until THE SOPRANOS and DEAD WOOD return--we
watch those together, also.)

> Loving HOUSE.
I rather miss him as Bertie Wooster in the Jeeves & Wooster series on PBS.
There's a lot to be said for being rich and clueless.
