The movie would have been a lot less epic. :)

I assume it would have been like Connor and Kastagir's relationship --
two immortals who knew and liked each other, and would not fight each
other unless they were compelled to. The whole reason Ramirez wanted
to train Connor was because he didn't want an evil man like the Kurgan
to win. That implies that he himself was not inclined towards evil.
