HBO host Bill Maher, a self-proclaimed “old-school liberal,” is slamming
progressive leaders of “woke” cities, including New York City, accusing them
of hypocrisy in complaining about the influx of asylum seekers.

In his “Club Random” podcast on Sunday, Maher questions the posturing of
sanctuary cities, calling them out for welcoming migrants but panicking when
they actually arrive from overwhelmed border states.

“It’s just a good example of, ‘Could everybody just stop the posturing?’”
Maher said. “Don’t pretend that you love migrants so much and then when
[border states] send them to you, you don’t like them. You know — you’re full
of s*** and we can see that,” Maher said.

“Yeah, you liked them when it wasn’t your problem because you’re not a border
state. And then when they show up in Chicago, in New York, you’re like, ‘What
the f***? What are we going to do with these people?’”

According to Maher, the crisis, particularly the sight of newly arrived
migrants sleeping on the streets of New York, reflects policies that
contradict the true essence of liberalism.

He highlights the disparity between liberalism, which seeks humane solutions
to move people off the streets, and the woke mentality, which resists any
measure to relocate them, asserting that the streets are their homes.

“Liberalism is ‘For the sake of humanity and compassion, can we get these
people off the streets?’ And woke is, ‘How dare you ask them to move! This is
their home,’” he said. “No, it’s not!”

“There’s got to be … a better solution” than putting up the unhoused in
hotels. “You know, get a barracks. They’re not that expensive,” he said
during a chat with fellow TV personality Sharon Osbourne.

Mayor Eric Adams of New York City recently warned that the migrant crisis
would affect neighborhoods, as the city grapples with accommodating
approximately 91,000 new arrivals from the border.

Earlier this year, Adams accused Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott of
targeting black-run cities with migrant buses.

“This weekend, we learned that Governor Abbott is once again deciding to play
politics with people’s lives by resuming the busing of asylum seekers to New
York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Denver, and Washington, D.C.,” the former NYPD
captain wrote in a press release in May.

“Not only is this behavior morally bankrupt and devoid of any concern for the
well-being of asylum seekers, but it is also impossible to ignore the fact
that Abbott is now targeting five cities run by black mayors.”

“Democrats were always supposed to be sort of the ‘Well, we know how to make
government work.’ And a lot of them did. Obama did. Hillary Clinton would
have. They’re wonky people,” he said.

In Sunday’s episode, Maher added that he would support President Biden in
2024 if there were a rematch between him and former President Donald Trump,
but admitted he was disappointed with the former’s lack of “competency.”

“So when Biden got in, I was like, ‘Really? I thought you were that kind of
guy.’ But you didn’t know how to pull out of Afghanistan. You can’t seem to,
like, get a thing going on the border that’s compassionate but not stupid,”
Maher said.

“Again, the competency worries me more than ideology. Like it makes me think
no matter what politics you people are, you’re the same person who can’t get
anything done,” he said.

Yes, don't you know that Texas and Arizona are the ones who are supposed
to suffer while their much smaller and far less funded cities are
overwhelmed with hundreds of thousands of illegals that Democrats have
let in. Meanwhile, Democrats are supposed to be entitled to virtue
signal their love of immigrants while calling those red states evil
without ever having to walk their talk.

That's how it's *supposed* to work but those evil red states aren't
cooperating with the agenda and the Democrats are rightfully spitting
mad about it. "How dare they expose our hypocrisy? How dare they expect
us to live up to our self-promoting blather? How dare they show our base
that we're not nearly as 'sensitive' and 'compassionate' as we claim to
be and that we act just like the Republicans we call evil when we're
inundated with the thousands upon thousands of illegals that Biden has
allowed to flood into the country?"

Same with the vagrants in L.A. Any effort to actually get them treatment
or housing is immediately met with screeching rage monsters showing up
to protest the "right of vagrants to encamp wherever they want".

To them people lying in the gutters isn't a problem to be solved. People
lying in the gutters is the desired state of affairs.

This is what I've always said. The military can come in to a barren
desert in the Middle East and erect an entire tent city, complete with
commissary, cafeteria, lavatories, medical facilities, and bunks for
thousands of troops and have it up and running in under 24 hours.

So it should be a simple matter to have the California National Guard go
out to Slab City and do the same thing. Then the LAPD goes block to
block and tells every vagrant sleeping in a tent or in a box he can
either get on the bus to Slab City where he will be fed, housed, and
given medical services, or he can get out of town, but this sleeping on
the sidewalks and in the parks and on the beaches is over with. It will
not be tolerated any more.

LOL! No, he targeted Dem-run cities because they're the ones which
declared themselves "sanctuaries". If you find yourself overrun by
illegals, what better place to send them than cities that have spent the
last 10 years shouting to the world that they're sanctuaries for
illegals? That they welcome illegals?

It's not his fault that most of the cities that engage in that nonsense
are run by blacks. But he also sent them to L.A., which at the time was
being run by a spineless Dem soy-boy who is white, so that gives lie to
Adams' "targeting black people" race hustle.

But when *you* bus them to targeted Republican enclaves in upstate New
York, that's not "playing politics with people's lives", is it, Eric?
It's only "playing politics with people's lives" when Republicans do it,
amirite?

Oh, put your race card back in the deck, Eric. No one's falling for your
grift anymore.
