One-time "Law & Order" prosecutor Elisabeth Rohm will be back on NBC in the
fall, courtesy of a guest appearance on "Heroes." NBC confirms that she'll
appear in the season's eighth episode, playing a character named Lauren
Gilmore.

Seriously, why does Elisabeth Rohm keep getting work? Angel fans hated her.
Law and Order fans hated her. She gets targeted by television critics for
her wooden performances no matter what show she's on. She's not even THAT
pretty. Why do people keep hiring her?

[[I liked her on "Angel". Didn't watch much of "L&O," but I thought
she was pretty good in the eps I saw.]]

Lauren Graham + Lorelai Gilmore = Lauren Gilmore! Although since it's
"Heroes," she won't be even one hundredth as awesome as either Lauren or
Lorelai.

[[I have to agree on that one]]

I personally like ER. They should have kept her instead of some
of the later characters on L&O. (Lupo?)

Sorry to disagree, but Angel fans did not hate Rohm, we rather liked her,
and a huge chunk of Angel fans would have rather seen the Detective Kate
storyline play out as originally planned at the end of season two than
Pltrz Glrb (I liked Pltrz Glrb myself, but I'm aware I'm in the minority).

Now, it is apparently true that, by and large, L&O fans hated her.

ITA regarding Rohm on Angel -- and IMO she had a few good episodes on
L&O. The only real problem that I saw regarding her time on L&O -- I
mean, besides it being the start of McCoy/Waterston going completely
off the rails into screechiness, something that no actor cast opposite
Waterston was going to be able to make look good -- was that she was
obviously bored with playing the show's Basil Exposition (as the ADAs
almost always are) and the writers clearly didn't care enough about
the show at that time to write a good script or character for
*anybody* -- not just Rohm, but also Martin and Orbach, too.

ITA, too, but it's clear that the character's name is a Gilmore
in-joke. If her character is part of Peter's (Milo's) storyline or at
least has them cross paths, then it'll make the inside joke all the
funnier.

It does kinda make me wonder if Lauren was offered the part (with the
character obviously having a much different name) before they hired
Rohm. Usually, when a name is an in-joke, said character is either
the exact type indicated by the in-joke or else the exact polar
opposite.

I suppose that they must have had to go with Rohm because the
Chuck-sters had already nabbeds Angie Harmon. And speaking of CHuck,
seems to me that Lauren would be a great addition to the Chuck cast as
a bonafide romantic interest and superspy second-partner-ish for
Casey.

And her name could be Lorelai Graham?
