What do you imagine the Gilmore Girl complete series box will look like?
The current series seasons 1-7 with one more season added.
(There exists now a GG set of season 1-7, it ain't any cheaper than
buying each individual season......already checked that part out.)
We are in Season Seven now.

That's not a complete set -- plus, it would clearly be a bootleg,
since s7 isn't even half finished yet.

LORELAI: I am so done with plans. I am never, ever making one again.
It never works. I spend the day obsessing over why it didn't work
and what I could've done differently. I'm analyzing all my shortcomings
when all I really need to be doing is vowing to never, ever make a plan
ever again, which I'm doing now, having once again been the innocent
victim of my own stupid plans. God, I need some coffee.

I think they should pay a licensing fee to Sanrio and put howevermany
seasons it'll be -- 8, 9, 10, 12, 18 -- in a large box festooned with
Hello, Kitty decorations.
Seriously, though. because of the number of discs involved, when it
goes past this season, it's going to be *highly* unlikely that it'll
be *one* box -- sure, Friends ran 10 seasons and MASH ran 11, but they
were both half-hour shows, which means in terms of time, they're only
the equivalent of five or six seasons worth of one-hour shows. If the
show runs 8 seasons, I bet they'll do two four-season box sets,
perhaps one decorated with a Crap Shack/Luke's Diner combo theme, the
other with a Dragonfly theme.
That is, unless Warners makes the very unwise choice of making the
hypothetical Gg Complete Series set consist of Flipper discs (with
episodes on both sides of each DVD ala The West Wing and NYPD Blue
season sets, among others). That would be dumb, considering that
Flipper discs are far more prone to manufacturing defects and, of
course, damage than the one-sided discs that the show uses now. Buuut
Flipper discs have been virtually discontinued industry-wide since the
debacle surrounding the Farscape Starburst Editions, so that might be
a moot point.
They aren't bootlegs unless Amazon sells bootlegs.
Amazon wouldn't be selling a complete set of Gg s1-7, even as a bundle
of the individual seasons, dipshit --season 7 is still filming. The
amazon links you saw for complete series sets were for other shows
that *have* actually ended.
>Amazon wouldn't be selling a complete set of Gg s1-7, even as a bundle

Oooo. That last word was harsh. I meant to delete it and forgot. I
apologize.
Not meaning to speak for Jinx, but I think, Rob, what Jinx is asking is
"What kinds of extras would you like to see included in a boxed set GG
DVD release?".
If you go to alt.tv.mash, a poster there has given a VERY nicely
detailed account of what "extras" have been included in the boxed set
of M*A*S*H (all 11 seasons). The name of the thread is, "My thoughts
on the new Complete Series box set..." (the post is so detailed that
it's just too long to put in this post). I think that Jinx would like
for us to throw in our two cents as to what extras should be included
in a boxed DVD GG set (bloopers, for sure!). I cannot remember for
sure, but in watching season one thus far on the DVD's, I don't recall
seeing any commentaries by the actors or TPTB from GG. I'd love to
hear some commentaries on select episodes.
Other than that, I can't think of anything else at the moment (maybe
floorplans for the Dragonfly and for Richard and Emily's house so that
we knew what was where??).

Actually I am asking what kind of gimmicky packaging could be used for
the Box Set that ties into the series stories. Alias has the Rambaldi
puzzle box packaging which ties into long running story for the series.
Given that one of the promo items for GG was a desk bell (like one
that would be at the front desk of an inn), I imagine dragonfly themed
box would be a possibility, or a diner, or maybe coffee? Somthing to
do with the Stars Hollow town square?
That kind of thing.

I've seen several reviews of items on Amazon that buyers discovered
were bootlegs only after purchasing. A Looney Tunes VHS compilation was
the most recent, I just saw it last night. So sometimes Amazon
unwittingly sells bootlegs, apparently.

Hehe. Maybe on another plane of existence, Gg is in its 8th season,
and stars Hal Linden as Emily Gilmore.

If so, those are the z-shops and independent sellers that sell in
Amazon's quasi-eBay section, not Amazon itself. Obvious bootlegs for
sale should be reported to Amazon immediately so that the items can be
pulled and the seller prosecuted, but honestly, I've only used that
route for comics and haven't had to deal with something like that yet.
If they were doing two-season gift sets ala the Seinfeld gift sets,
I'd like to see them do this, off the top of my head
For s1-s2: Luke's Diner theme -- a mini-reproduction of a Luke's
Diner menu, complete with clear plastic cover that paper menus are
inserted to. Maybe the menu could have a booklet of Gilmoreisms and
photos from the first two seasons inside. Full size dark blue
baseball cap like the one Lor gave him for Christmas, but with an
embroidered Luke's Diner logo on the front. Small reproduction of the
shooting script for Rory's Birthday Parties, complete with either Amy
or Lauren's notations from either one's personal copy ala Larry
David's Seinfeld script reproduction in the first set. I feel like
there should be at least a couple other things in it, though, but I'm
currently at a loss for what else as I haven't started re-watching the
series from the beginning yet.
For s3-s4: Dual Chilton-Yale themes. Booklet of Gilmoreisms and
photos from s3 and 4, done perhaps as a flip book with the s3 half
being done in the fashion of the Chilton newspaper and the s4 half
done in the style of the Yale Daily News. Mini graduation robe and
mortarboard ala the Seinfeld mini-Puffy shirt. Mini-script
reproductions for *both* Dear Emily & Richard *and* Raincoats and
Recipes. And a pack of Trojan condoms with a picture of Rory and Dean
on them. Also, a figurine of Naked!Kirk in mid-sleep-run, clutching
the pillow around his junk.
For s5-6: Dragonfly theme. A Dragonfly Logo mug like the one I got
from the Warner Studio booth at Comic-Con this past year. Stonewear,
big, pastel green with the logo on both sides of the mug. Absolutely
gorgeous. I'm afraid to drink from it until I get another one. ;)
Mini Script reproductions of Wedding Bell Blues & Say Something (which
I consider one two-part episode) and Partings. Booklet of Gilmoreisms
and photos from s5-6 done a third in Doyle's style of editorship, a
third in Paris's style (as she gets crazier and crazier) and a third
in Rory's style. A coupon for $5 off toward a Bopp-It. A Dog Paul
Anka figurine (in depressed sulk as if on Rory's bed during Lorelai's
breakdown) and/or a Madeline Albright inaction figure.
I dunno why, but this made me think of the scene from Grey's Anatomy
where Izzie's walking around the house wearing nothing but Hello Kitty
panties and a t-shirt. Meredith encounters Izzie... looks down toward
her sweet spot (which has the kitty stamped right in the "front" of it)
and looks Izzie right in the eye and says "Hello, kitty...". I just
about died laughing.

I loved that scene!. Pompeo has a purr to her voice that made it
totally lewd the way she said it.
Me, too. Izzie, being that she's, well, Izzie, is just clueless about
what the big deal is, which is another reason it was such a funny
moment.

Hence the reason why I LMFAO so hard. It was just hysterical, and FTR,
I'm not a big fan of EP's.
