Wrong. Gilmore Girls remains alive as long as fans like me have the
show on DVD to watch.
It will also remain alive as long as Family Channel runs the show.
(and yes they are still running the show even today.)
BTW, Dark Shadows has been off the air since the early 70s and
it still has avid followers today. So much so that Tim Bruton is
making a Dark Shadows movie.

Usenet newsgroup for new shows these days. Out of the 69 newsgroups in my
"TV" subscriptions, only about six get real messages - Doctor Who being
the most active.
