Sookie had a baby in tonights repeated episode. Where did the second
one
come from? I don't recall there being a second one.
Davey. Their son. He was born season before last. I think Rory wasn't in
Yale yet. There was a whole big deal about Jackson not wanting to know
the sex of the baby before it was before, but Sookie did. She had a
garage of blue things.

No, they haven't named the second baby -- at least, not on camera yet.
Unless I'm still so totally distracted by LG in the final scene of the
finale that I've totally forgotten everything else about the last two
episodes of the season, which is entirely possible.
However, when Jackson and Sookie were fighting about babies' names
last year, it came out that "Colgate" is a traditional name for women
in Jackson's family. (Better Colgate than Aqua Fresh, I suppose.)
Sookie was bound and determined not to name Baby #1 Colgate if it were
a girl, but there's no telling yet if Jackson will finally try to
assert his manhood by giving his daughter one of the dumbest names
ever.

LORELAI: In the movie, only boy hobbits travel to Mount
Doom, but that's only because the girls went to do something
even more dangerous.
GIRL: What?
LORELAI: Have you ever heard of a Brazilian Bikini Wax?
You seriously don't remember?
Sookie found out she was pregnant with the first child back in season
3 (the episode where Lorelai ran into Max again in a drugstore, and
where Paris freaked out on CSPAN over not getting to Harvard) and gave
birth to little Davey in season 4 (the episode with all the living
pictures)
In watching that episode again, it sounds like Sookie said Martha as a first
name and then strung together a whole bunch of names for the middle name.
That may not be final, but it's possible that the baby will be called
Martha.

Thanks to the transcript on David's website, I found this...I don't think
it's entirely true, though.
SOOKIE: It's everything, I promise. Kiss before you go. [They kiss.] Hey, I
just thought of the perfect name. First name Martha, middle name
Janice-Lori-Ethan-Rupert-Glenda-Carson-Daisy-Danny.
JACKSON [smiles]: You got them all in.
Since the names are given in the context of a joke, I don't consider
the Martha name confirmed until the first time it's mentioned as her
name outside of a joke. After all, she could still get addicted to
Demerol and decide to name the girl Sookie and thereby cause all sorts
of (additional) Freudian problems for Lorelai.
Other baby 1 related moments:
Sookie realized she was pregnant because all her food tasted bad, and at
some point in the episode both she and Lorelai (at the same time) realized
it was a pregnancy symptom and screamed. Don't know why.
Sookie went into labor while Lorelai was playing the Renoir girl in the
festival of living pictures, and her "baby beeper" went off during a crucial
moment.
When the were redoing the Inn, Sookie was a new mom and was tired and cranky
and missed the appointment to meet the sink delivery guy, and she and
Lorelai had a fight about it.
Michele babysat Davey in one episode, and the baby rolled under the bed, and
Lorelai had to come over and help get him out.
The Bruce (the quite masculine midwife they had last year) probably
watched over the baby. OTOH, the fact that they didn't have a home
birth this time suggests that maybe The Bruce is out of the picture?
Left Davey in the care of Jackson's cousin Roone?
Good god, no. Even Michel -- Kirk, even! -- would be more likely to
return Davey alive and healthy than Roone would. Jackson does come
from a large family though, so there are a lot of options from that
direction, plus other options in town (Miss Patty, Gypsy, even Taylor
-- Taylor may be an ass, but I'd trust him to babysit a baby for a day
or two) or even borrowing somebody from the Dragonfly. Maybe, since
they didn't even mention Davey as they were rushing off to the
doctors', they had shipped Davey off to either Sookie or Jackson's
parents to look after for that entire last couple of weeks or month
before the new baby's due date.
