I just finished Season 3 and started Season 4 of Gilmore Girls and I have to
say I totally puzzled about Sooki's pregnancy. I had to go back and find
which episode in Season 2 that was the pregnancy announcement and it was
Episode 16. Then, not a word for the entire Season 3, in fact it looked
like Sooki had been doing some serious dieting--she actually has a
waistline. Then Season 4 starts out with Sooki pregnant everyone talking
about it. That was one long gestation. Was there any explanation back when
the show was airing?

It was episode 16 in Season Three , 'The Big One', not S2 E 16, There's
the Rub -
http://crazy-internet-people.com/site/gilmoregirls/pages/s2/s2s/37.html

She mentioned it once in the next S3 episode # 17 -
LORELAI: Since when are you a cat person?
SOOKIE: Well, ever since I got pregnant, I've become very nurturing
toward all living things. Jackson, too.
LORELAI: Well, both your bodies are changing.

And in #18 -
RORY: Jackson, I swear, I would never purposely hurt Sookie.
Besides, it’s not the world’s largest pizza. It’s not even the tri-county
area’s largest pizza.
JACKSON: I have a sobbing pregnant woman at home, which is not
unusual, except this time I didn’t cause it!

And then again in S4 Ep 3 -
SOOKIE: This is not right. This is all wrong. I don't. . .I don't
want to be pregnant anymore!

Three times in Ep 5 -
EMILY: A simple phone call to tell me that Sookie is pregnant.
..
LORELAI: Oh, yeah? My mother found out about you being pregnant.
SOOKIE: Not from Natalie.
..
EMILY: A simple phone call to tell me that Sookie is pregnant.
LORELAI: How did you find out about it, anyway?

Wow, you must have those things memorized. I will have to quit switching
back and forth between House, regular television programing and The Gilmore
Girls. Now I'm wondering if I accidently watched the pregnancy episode out
of order, because it seemed like I watched a very chubby Sookie listening to
Jackson tear his hear out over figuring how their finances would work with a
baby in the mix and then all of a sudden Sookie was quite a bit thinner and
not much was said about the baby for a long time.
