I haven’t seen Thursday’s episode because I was watching the far superior
soap opera Fani Willis hearing.

Salacious

They should have held it yesterday, Valentine’s day.

We have known all along that Carly and Michael paid Dex on the side to
watch out for Sonny. This is yet another bizarre poorly thought out side
story. He is already paid by Sonny to be Sonny’s nursemaid and caretaker.

So Carly and Mikey pay Dex a bonus for doing what he is already doing.

Carly’s explanations to Sonny seem to be falling flat. She seems to be
blaming Nina.

It seems to me, that in essence, she admitted she is a busybody who just
cannot let go of Sonny.

In the meantime, since it is Valentine’s day, Willow got horny and let
Michael back in the house. She pledges to work out the problems in their
marriage. She tells him she lives him because she feels so safe and secure
with him.

Rhetorical question.

Is she really that phenomenally unaware she married into a mob family? She
and her kids are always at risk. More so now that Unknown Enemy
infiltrated Sonny’s security…

Yeah, and that Sonny was paying him to do. Boggle. Weren't those
offshore accounts that Brick has only just now found set up and funded
by Michael when he was plotting against Sonny with Dex? Michael told
Carly what he was up to, which is how she knew about his plot to take
Sonny down. She convinced Michael to destroy the recording he had paid
Dex to make of Sonny receiving Pikeman's shipment. The other day when
Brick told Carly--without naming names--that Sonny had just found out
who was behind the latest assassination attempts and was "taking care of
it as we speak," Carly somehow jumped to the conclusion that it was Dex
and hastily teleported over to the pine barrens (luckily, to the exact
spot!) to stop Sonny from killing Dex based on "evidence" of something
that had been put to rest months ago.

Why are they making a thing about this again? Sonny had already hung Dex
from a meat hook because Brick had found "evidence" of Dex's disloyalty,
only to be stopped short of killing him by Joss running in at the last
second. Now here it is again, this time because Brick has "found" more
evidence--offshore accounts in Dex's name. Those accounts were set up
and funded by Michael and would have existed for Brick to "find" during
the meat hook incident, so why only now is the twit finding them?

The trip to the pine barrens (an oxymoron!) is just a variation of the
meat hooks, this time with Carly running in to save Dex at the last
second rather than Joss. What will it be next time paranoid Sonny is
triggered into suspecting Dex of disloyalty--Sonny's goons try to stuff
Dex into Sonny's industrial coffee grinder and Joss and Carly both run
in at the last second to save him?

What an awful pair Sonny and Brick are. Brick tells Sonny about
"finding" accounts with a lot of money in them in Dex's name, and Sonny
goes off, half-cocked as usual, to kill Dex--a loyal lieutenant who has
taken bullets for him--without asking Brick how he found the accounts,
or asking to be shown proof of the accounts, or asking Brick to look
further into the accounts to see if it could be determined where the
funds had come from, or without calling Dex into his office to explain
the accounts. Sonny and Brick (whose first name is apparently Thickasa)
add the accounts to the latest in a decades-long line of assassination
attempts and get d'oh, Dex musta dun it. A *real* mob boss would call
that stoopid math.

I don't remember her blaming Nina, but I'm fine with that--even tho it
probably took a bit of twisty thinking to arrive there--after all, Nina
tore the family apart. Of course, so did Sonny (it takes two to cheat!),
but Carly overlooks that because...it's Sonny.

They're like conjoined twins who share vital organs and can't be
separated without the death of one or both. Carly is actually more
obsessed with Sonny than he is with her, but he allows it, and they both
justify her obsession by claiming it's due to their shared children. But
Sonny shares children with a lot of women, and none of them are obsessed
with him. None of them married him even once, let alone the umpteen
number of times Carly has (and will again, I predict).

The big question for me is not why Carly can't quit Sonny--he's
obviously an addiction--but why Dex can't. Who would want to work for
someone who expects loyalty to the point of death, but suddenly,
seemingly out of the blue, on multiple occasions, falsely accuses you of
being disloyal and tries to kill you? Dex must be a little obsessed,
himself. Some people are just unaccountably attracted to thugs.
