back then. Well, I liked him when he was 12 but not when he grew up.
And not now! He's a whispery-voiced kid. Where's Greg Vaughan and is
it too late to get him back? Seriously, while I know I should give JJ
more of a chance to hit his stride, the moment I heard his voice, I
cringed. Just don't like the guy!

Today was the day I've been waiting for. While I liked Greg Vaughn and
would love him as any other character, he's never really been Lucky to
me. JJ was a bit soft spoken in his first couple of scenes today (with
Liz and at the Haunted Star), but by the end of the episode, it was like
he never left. Loved his reactions to Liz on the couch. Loved him
talking to his mom. Love him! :-)

I'm not gay but I really don't understand why they would replace a
masculine hot guy like Greg Vaughn for the wimp JJ? You don't get MORE
viewers with something like this, you get less.

I JJ's Lucky but was madder than heck with the way they brought him
back. I hated the way they S*** all over the fans of the JJ;s Lucky
and Elizebeth pairing. I never bought Greg as Lucky. He just didn't
have the look of a kid who grew up street smart and looking over his
shoulder all the time. and they sure didn't portray him as such
lately.

I had the same feeling! Of course, I hadn't seen him since he was a cute
12 year old because I left GH for 5 years when Lucky was a teen. By the
time I came back he was believed dead. Then we had to put up with
box-kicking Lucky 2. I really LIKED Lucky3 in the form of Greg Vaughn
although I hated what they did with his character. Now that we have Lucky
1/4 it is annoying again to have to get used to a new actor. I especially
hate it when they bring in a new actor (and this IS a new actor because he
never played this role as an adult) and immediately throw them into intimate
romantic scenes with someone that their character has been involved with,
but I've never seen this ACTOR involved with the person and it was jarring
as all get-out to me to see Elizabeth kissing this total stranger.
That was a cute intro though with the "Remember me?" question as his first
line.

Good point. JJ may have been great as a sensitive teen, but it's going to
be tough for him to convince us he's a reformed addict and a cop, especially
since many of us really LIKED GV in the role.

GV was so well built that he didn't look like Luke's spawn to me. OTOH, I'm
going to now start expecting Lucky to pull out a guitar rather than a gun,
because I have a hard time seeing him as a cop.

I don't think JJ is masculine or "hot", nor do I think Lisa is particularly
gorgeous. She's attractive -- most actors are. But gorgeous? Not so much.

To be honest, when I heard (and every single time I've seen it
mentioned since) that JJ and LV had married, I've been astonished! I
do think she's very attractive and she's older and has always seemed
eons more mature than him. But, as Janie pointed out, they're still
married, they have 3 kids together. Something must be working for
them. But I'm not watching them, I'm watching him on GH and his soft
voice and wimpy manner (still) are not working for me. I said when his
return was first disclosed that he "looks" more like Luke's son but
that's all he has going for him, as far as I'm concerned.

I have to disagree with you all. JJ has more of an edge to him that
GV just didn't have. I never bought him as someone who spent most of
his childhood looking over his shoulder. Yes he way sort of good
looking but he never fit the role for me.

JJ looks more like a possible brother for Ethan than does GV -- and it's
absolutely horrible if TPTB were planning to dump Greg so far in advance
that they cast "Lucky's Brother" to look like JJ rather than GV.

From what I've read, Ethan was originally supposed to be Robert
Scorpio's kid
until Tony Geary intervened after the role was cast and said he'd be better
as Luke's. So, if they were going for a resemblance to anyone, it probably
was Tristan Rogers.

Lisa was a bit of a contraction. She was very pretty and had curves
that must have drawn Kelly Monaco's attention, as well as the males in
the audience. Lisa was very dedicated to her craft and to her strong
beliefs. Lisa was also a singer. She led a bible study group on the set
during the break. Face it, one look at this lady and you weren't
thinking bible study.
Her relationship with JJ, I think surprised many. Then thinking about
it, it started to make more sense. JJ and LV have conservative values.
Jonathan raised in Washington, not far from Vancouver, LV's home.
Both have interests in music, as well as acting. Neither are into the
LA-LA lifestyle.
They've been married about 8 years. That's 7 years and 9 months longer
than the average in tinsel town. ;)
As far as the JJ Lucky, I was a bit surprised that he was so thin.
Through the maturation process I would have expected him to have bulked
up a bit.
By comparison GV and JJ definitely are two different body types. From a
casting point of view, JJ probably looks closer to Luke body wise and
coloring with both of his cast parents. If Ethan is his half brother,
that the body is similar, although the coloring is off. Holly having
dark hair would account for that.

It would have made SOOOO much more sense if he had been Robert and Holly's
kid than Luke's. I will never get over hating that they rewrote history to
have Luke cheat on Laura. That was always part of the mystique about Luke
and Laura...he was a pretty disreputable character, but he loved Laura
devotedly for years, and that was the one good thing about him. I hate that
they destroyed that. Now he's just another sleazy cheating bastard who ran
around on his wife and knocked up another woman.

Yes, it is an open secret that TG is gay, but I don't think TPTB at GH make
decisions based on who has a crush on whom.

show, Luke and Ethan would have shared the same scenes ANYWAY, whoever
Ethans dad turned out to be.

It isn't stupid, securing Ethan as Luke's family increases the
likelihood that he will stick around. And anyway actors whether gay or
straight go to bat for those they like on a show. On the Young And The
Restless Christian Leblanc absolutely fell in love with Greg Rikaart
and this secured Rikaart's presence on the show and even enlarged the
role of the Baldwin family there.

Okay, you have a point. My objection when this comes up is the "fans"
who make TG sound like a drooling idiot panting after a young stud. TG
is way too professional to act as some have claimed AND he's been with
the same domestic partner for many, many years. He keeps his private
life very private and we should too.
