Just wanted to mention that this version of Dr. Steven Webber
certainly looks more like Dr. Jeff Webber than the past one. Whatever
nuSteve's name is in real life, he looks like he could easily be
Richard Dean Anderson's son. I haven't yet decided whether I like his
acting.

Patrick certainly got his back up quickly about the new chief, didn't
he? Was that out of left field or did I miss something about Patrick
wanting the chief of staff position for himself? Seemed kind of weird
to me.

Patrick was the chief of staff on Night Shift's second summer. But I don't
think there's been any reference to why he objects to Webber other than
perhaps nepotism is involved. But then, Monica's husband also was chief of
staff, so they apparently often keep it in the family at GH.

I had the same casting thought.

That was an interesting little tweak when Nick said to Dr. Webber, "I
signed off on your appointment." This said to counteract a power issue
when Webber stated he was chief of Staff. More personal-professional
issues to follow.

I'm really sick of the Liz/Nik/Lucky story and I'm sorry that they've
added a character to it: protective "big" brother. Seems it's not
going to end any time soon. When I saw Nik sitting sadly on the dock
and Liz walked up, I hoped (for a split second) that he had thought
about Steven's words and was waiting for her to say goodbye. No such
luck.

I agree with you, he does look a lot like Richard Dean Anderson's,
Dr. Jeff Webber, probably the best recast they have done.

nuSteve is soap vet, Scott Reeves. What I've seen of him in the past,
I've liked. I know he's friends IRL with many of the GH cast, so the
chemistry should be good. I think he'll be great in the role - hope he
sticks around for awhile!

I was trying to remember if Patrick was there when Steven was there before,
or if he was the replacement "hot young doctor" for when they booted the
last one out.

I thought they'd mention something about his abrupt departure and where he
went when he left GH the last time, but if they did it was so brief I missed
it.

He was on The Young and the Restless for several years, then he left and
moved to Nashville to pursue a music career.

Is he still married to that woman who was on Days?

Scott Reeves, married to Melissa Reeves (former DOOL actress)

He and Melissa had been living in Nashville - I believe.
He and Aaron Benward make up the country music duo Blue County.
