Secretive Sam--she doesn't tell anyone anything (never mind what psycho
Heather thinks). I can't understand why Sam just didn't tell Alexis
about Franco being the father. So what if she knows? Not knowing made
her open her big mouth to Judgmental Jason about Sam confiding in
McBain. Alexis has to know that McBain is out to get Sonny and that
Jason and Sonny are welded at the hip. She doesn't seem to me the
manipulative type who would tell such a thing to Jason to pry out what's
going on between him and Sam. Crappy writing strikes again, I guess. Or
maybe I just missed something. :-(

Two things come to mind. First, she didn't want to tell her mom that she'd been raped. Second, she wanted to tell Jason before she told anyone else. Clarification: anyone else who matters. John McBain is a stranger and sometimes it's just easier to talk to a stranger than to someone who will no doubt want to "fix things" for you. As for Alexis, I think she's just basically clueless when it comes to Sam and Jason. I think she hates having been trapped into being Sonny's lawyer again and I think she truly wishes Sam were in love with anyone who isn't a mobster.

Because she's trying to spare Alexis the grief. She couldn't be afraid
of what Alexis would do or think or say, because what could Alexis do or
think or say that would change anything. ('Tho with Sam, I would expect
the latter actually to be the case.)

True. What's funny about who knew what and when is that the town psycho
(or, the town's *biggest* psycho, I should say, knowing that to be
completely debatable) and a cop whose sole reason for living is to put
her husband's boss, and by association, her husband, in jail for life,
knew the secret before her husband and family did. And she'd already
told Jason, but was still holding out on Alexis at Sonny's party before
Alexis ratted on her to Jason about McBain.

Yes, but McBain in particular because she knew him in another life. :-D

Yes. Just didn't expect her to act on those feelings or even
"subconsciously" try to louse up their relationship.

Where's Diane when you need her, anyway? She'd have clapped a fast hand
over Alexis's flapping cake hole before McBain's name came out in
Jason's presence. :-D
