I'm guessing Claudette will have a child who can be either Nathan's or Griffin's.

Wasn't one of the incoming cast a child?

Oh, gawd, I hope not. Won't be long before Nathan and Griffin have a
custody battle over Maxie. A kid in the mix would just make
things...ugh.

How can anyone possibly keep track?

Did this actress play Babe Chandler on All My Children? She looks so familiar. I know, go look it up on IMDB, right. Actually the reason I mention it here is that, assuming it is the same woman, I did not care for her back then, and already I'm finding her irritating now. Just something about her that grates on me.

I think we're supposed to find her grating. Does that mean she's a good actress or just that the actress is grating in general? I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that she was on AMC so you're probably right about that. Since that would be twice she has irritated you, I'm going with the actress being naturally off-putting.

I think she was Jessica Lord and her alters on OLTL. I found her
annoying there and still do. She's the same visual type as the actress
who played Babe Chandler, but it's not the same person.

I don't watch other soaps and haven't seen her before, but she puts me
off, too. The bad vibe I get comes from the look out of her eyes. It's
harsh. And creepy. Like there's something unpleasantly reptilian lurking
beneath. (Yes, yes, I know. Too much X-files.)

I started wondering, Jay isn't really Magda's kid he is Obrecht's kid
so how did he get the citizenship he needed to have to get Claudette her status, because at least that was the version he told Maxie a while back

Who's Jay? and who's Magda?

If Claudette needed citizenship, I'm curious from where did she come? She has NO accent whatsoever.

It was mentioned that she was Canadian.

Jay is Nathan. His first name is James and Nina calls him "J". Magda is Nina's mother, Madeline's birth name. She's in prison.

That's one of those pesky little details that was overlooked. His
American citizenship has been based on assumptions. We assume he's
American--born or naturalized--because he's a cop. Aren't police forces
worldwide required to be made up of citizens of the countries whose laws
they enforce? His mother is a German-speaking European (German? Swiss?
Austrian?). They haven't yet decided who his father is, but when they
do, maybe the father will turn out to be American.

She's a citizen?????
How why
I thought she did all that crazy genetic stuff in Europe and the only reason she got the hospital job was because of victors secret organization connection

I could not imagine she'd be granted citizenship with her unethical Doctor history

It's never been addressed, but presumably she's not. She first showed up
on the show in that clinic in Europe where Anna went following a lead on
Robin's whereabouts. When they decided to keep her on and give her a
backstory, she started dropping in from Transylvania or wherever to
torment Britt. Long story short, in a ridiculous turn of plot, she ended
up Chief of Staff at GH.

That, and cash "donations" to the hospital. And she probably has a fake
green card.

Citizenship? I can't imagine, given her unethical doctor history, why
she isn't in prison.

I'm not sure how the passing off of Jay/Nathan to Madalyn happened. If
it was something like Obrecht went into the hospital under her sister's
name, then her name (and citizenship) would be on Jay's birth certificate.

I'm not sure how or why Obrecht would be an American citizen unless she
became naturalized at some point, but she appears to have been born,
educated, and worked in Europe, at least up to the point where she was
involved in holding Robin hostage.

We still don't know who Jay's father is, but whoever he is, obviously,
his name is not on Jay's birth certificate.

Well, his birth certificate must say that Madelyn and Madelyn's husband
are his parents which would give him American citizenship. Even if they
adopted him, that would be the case.

The fact that we now know that Obrecht is his biological mother wouldn't
have anything to do with what his birth certificate says or his legal
status.

I'm guessing Valentin Cassadine will wind up being Nathan's father.

There's no way that actor (can never remember his name) could be passed off as Nathan's father. He's not old enough. Though stranger things have happened.

According to Wikipedia James Patrick Stewart (Valentin) is 17 years older than Ryan Peavey (Nathan) and Kathleen Gati (Liesl) is 11 years older than James Patrick Stewart.

Even if they play it close to the actors' real ages, it could happen in soap opera land - the older woman (28) seduced the angry young man (17).

It really doesn't matter, who he parents would be, as long as he was born in the US.
