Jax, not only Claudia, put Michael in a Coma

I've never liked Jax, he's always been cavalier and self-serving but I'm
really beginning to hate him.

It was fine in his mind to pull strings so his psychopathic brother got
away with multiple unjustified homicides and torture, but he thinks
Michael. who acted in self-defense, should be turned in.

If Jax hadn't called in favors to protect Jerry, Michael would not have
been shot by Devlin, who Jerry hired.

Jax, Jerry, Devlin and Claudia are all responsible for Michael's shooting.

And they are all responsible for whomever else Jerry has and will hurt
since that shooting.

Jax has no problem lecturing Carly about turning in her son, when he
stood by when Jerry almost killed Michael again (and this time maybe
Kristina) and Sam, and who knows how many other innocent people. As
long as Jerry's out there, the blood on Jax's hypocritical gets darker
and darker.

I hope Carly throws him out forever when she finds out his role in this.

There's a big difference between covering for an adult who's so evil
nothing can scar him anymore and covering for a child who still has a
chance to grow up to be a decent person. I agree that Jax should never
have helped Jerry. Jax knows that now too and that's probably why he
wants to do what's right by Michael. Don't get me wrong; I don't care
for Jax, not one bit. I don't care for Michael either. And I hate both
Carly and Sonny. So, I'm just trying to see this from the "what's
right" point of view. Jax could not have forseen what protecting Jerry
would bring. He can foresee what protecting Michael will bring. As I
said, there's a big difference.

Replying to my own post because I wanted to add: Playing the "who's to
blame" game and going back to who did what to whom and when, it all
boils down to Michael's shooting being Carly's fault for letting Sonny
into her son's life in the first place! What mother knowingly allows a
major criminal to adopt her child? Idiots all!

Wow, this is all such interesting reading. All the blame and what is the
right thing to do, etc. etc.

Now that Michael has awakened, and Claudia's secret is out, and Claudia
is dead, and Michael killed her, and it's being covered up, and some
agree TO cover up, and some agree NOT to cover up............guess the
mob stories will continue.

Though they don't bother me as much as they do some here, I WISH it
would get back to GENERAL HOSPITAL!!!!! HOSPITAL stories, romance, etc. :-)

I don't think I agree though that Jax put Michael in a coma.

Mad Men is a better soap!! :-) LOVE IT! Awesome!

But a GH fan forever of course! :-)

The writers have turned Jax into an idiot over the past 4 years or so.
His entire family is just plain shifty.

Of course he could have forseen what protecting a ruthless, sadistic,
maniac who already killed innocent people in the hotel hostage crisis
would do. It would enable him to go on killing.

In the case of Michael, he can't forsee the damage and risk an
investigation, trial, interrogations, jail time, etc. will do. The PCPD
and the PC Courts have demonstrated they are often incompetent idiots.

When Carly gave birth to Michael, she went into postpartum depression
and completely ignored him. Jason stepped in and "nursed" them both
back to health. Jason and Sonny, unlike Jerry, have good and bad
sides. The new Jerry (the writers destroyed the old good Jerry) has no
redeeming qualities.

I forgot to add Alexis, for not prosecuting him and then dating him, to
the list of people responsible for Michael's shooting.

I liked him when he first came on the canvas. But since he dumped Skye on
their wedding night in favor of Brenda, I've hated him. I've despised him
since he brought Brenda to Christmas dinner at the home of Skye's family,
then suggested that Skye be the one to leave because "no one wants you here
anyway."

It was despicaable to pull strings to get Jerry off after what he did at the
MetroCourt. But I think he's right -- Carly and Michael ought to tell the
truth. Legally, it was self-defense or defense of his mother and baby
sister when he hit Claudia, and I don't think he's going to be able to heal
until he takes responsibility for it. Plus he's going to need counseling
big time. And he's not going to get it without admitting what happened.

>

And if Sonny hadn't locked up Johnny and threatened to kill him, Claudia
wouldn't have felt compelled to put a hit out on Sonny. Sonny helped set
all of those events in motion. And Michael wouldn't have been at the
warehouse if Kate hadn't insisted upon bringing him there without Carly's
permission. (Carly had physical custody of Michael at that time; he was
living in her house. Someone should have asked her or even informed her
that Michael was going to the warehouse.) Sonny wasn't wild about the idea
of Michael being there, but Kate insisted. So it's Kate's fault, too.
There's no shortage of blame to go around.

I LIKE Carly, but don't really care for any of the others you mentioned.
But I think you're right. Big difference between Jerry -- who is evil
through and through -- and Michael, who as you say could still grow up to be
a decent person. After all, his mother is turning out pretty decent.

Well, she "was" turning out okay until she decided it's better to have
Michael turn out like his father than have him admit to what really
happened to Claudia. She's still the same old Carly underneath her
well-constructed facade.

And we come down to the "two 'wrongs' don't make a 'right' matter." Of
course, that's what has driven Sonny, Carly and their associates for years.
Whatever they do wrong is always ok because someone else did something wrong
to them.

Based on today's show (Monday, 11/9) I can see a lot of good reasons for
Carly to forgive Jason but not Jax. Jax is insufferably self-righteous and
rather than own up to being wrong to protect Jerry and apologizing to Carly
for the role HE had in Michael's problems (nevermind that she also had a
role), he chose to go on a self-justifying rant and blame Carly for many
things -- some of which were her fault and some of which were not. If he'd
just apologized and taken his lumps in the first place, she'd probably have
gotten over it a whole lot faster. But because Jax acted like a major jerk,
she now has reason to stay mad for a good long time. And he'll probably
give her more reasons. It's what he does.

I think who she forgives, who she doesn't forgive and how soon she forgives
is going to depend a lot on how the person behaves when she finds out what
they knew and when they knew it. And given the self-righteous rant Jax
indulged in today, I wouldn't blame her if she didn't forgive him for a good
long time. Jason she'll probably forgive because she knows he loves and
protects Michael first of all -- but there's a lot of reasons to believe
that Jax would choose Jocelyn over Michael.

Yea, Ruby, a disagreement! (Surprise!) Consider this a reply to both
your posts. Jax DID APOLOGIZE!! Maybe more than once. He said, "I was
wrong." Carly's not thinking clearly; that's a given. Just imagine how
she would have felt if he'd told her and she'd lost the baby. That

miss him if he left Port Charles but I don't think he's as wrong as
Carly and you do. This was a damned-if-you-do and damned-if-you-don't
situation. And he was absolutely within his rights to call Carly on
all the shit she's pulled since they've been married. Has she ever
lied to him to hang onto her marriage? You betcha. Has she ever lied
to him to save herself? You betcha. Would she lie to him in this
situation if the roles were reversed? In a heartbeat! Carly's mantra
seems to be "do as I want you to do but don't expect me to follow the
same rules". I'm not saying Jax was right to lie. I'm saying Carly,
liar extraordinaire, has no right to be so judgemental. But she's not

Jax's big lie was in hiding Jerry's identity as Mr. Craig after the
MetroCourt hostage crime. Jax coerced Carly into protecting Jerry from the
cops, thus allowing Jerry to stay in Port Charles.

Jax has always protected Jerry, even the original Bobbie-lovin' one. After
he received Jerry's DVD of confession, he was mad at Jerry; however, it's
not like he took it to the cops as evidence. Jax is complicit.

I was just thinking yesterday that although I had intensely disliked Carly
for years, she had become more likeable in the past year or so. Then she
pulled the stunt of throwing Jax out of the house because of what he "knew."
It was classic Carly at her worse. So typical of her to make everything
about insulting her, especially when Jax had made his decisions to try to
protect HER and the baby. Only Carly could turn the whole thing into, "You
only cared about your child, not mine(Michael)."

Claudia may have tried (and failed) to kill Sonny, Carly, Jerry, and
probably 2 or 3 other people I'm forgetting, but she never deliberately
tried to harm a child.

Do you suppose we'll EVER hear any blame heaped on Sonny who married Claudia
for "business" reasons to begin with and brought Claudia into the lives of
his kids?

Well, of course Jax would, just as Carly would choose Michael over Kristina
or Spencer or anybody else's kid. You always love your own child more than
any other. However, nothing about this was ever about sacrificing Michael
for Jocelyn until Carly cogitated it up in her own little twisted brain.

There is no doubt that Jax has been a dick many times, but in this case he
was between the proverbial rock and a hard place. It really wasn't his
business as step-father to tell Sonny that his son shouldn't live with him.

It's all been so convoluted that I don't remember at what point he found out
about Jerry and Claudia's murder plot or how, but I still maintain that
there wasn't much Jax could do without risking Carly's life by upsetting her
and Dr. Kelly had made it VERY clear that Carly was a very high risk
pregnancy and that she should be kept calm and stress-free to even have a
chance of living and going to term and delivering a healthy baby.

Personally, I'm hoping they pull out the PPD story again...which would be
logical since she had it before with an earlier pregnancy...and quietly
sweep the whole mess under the rug as a hormonal overreaction and let her
and Jax get back to enjoying their new baby.

It was about a month before Carly got pregnant. Maybe he needed time
to figure out how to tell her. Carly tends to fly off the handle so
easily that it's understandable that Jax would want to be careful
about how he told her. Yeah, I could see that taking a month. And he
was really worried. I remember him talking to Olivia about it. So it's
not like he was just being callous. I really don't see how this whole
situation is ALL JAX'S FAULT. If Carly weren't so shoot-first-question-
later in everything she does, yeah, Jax could have sat down with her
and had a rational discussion about it. But she is, so he couldn't.

So it's Carly's fault Jax didn't tell her about Jerry's involvement in the

BS, Ruby. Olivia isn't his wife so she couldn't walk out on him.
Talking to Olivia is no worse than Carly talking to Jason. And NOBODY
said it was Carly's fault that Jax didn't tell her about Jerry. I
simply pointed out that it's a pot and kettle situation and neither of
them has any right to act indignant. Look at the words you quoted: see
that capitalized word "ALL"? I implied that it can't ALL be Jax's
fault. That's not the same as saying it's Carly's fault. They have
such a screwy relationship, there's ample blame to share. It's not
like you to be obtuse!
