OT...what's "cocktail attire"??

You wear clothes that are comfortable to wear when drinking
cocktails?
You wear rooster tail feathers in your hair or hat?
Seriously I believe that means a nice dress or pantsuit for
you and a suit for hubby. Of course, I haven't been to a
cocktail party in years and years. Now if ya'll were in
town, I'd host a cocktail party next week ... with casual
attire!

I'm guessing business suits for the guys and 'cocktail dresses' for the ladies?
You might call your host and ask. Sometimes only they know for sure what
they're talking about.
Maybe they've decided that formal is too formal and have adjusted accordingly?
Maybe they're wondering who actually reads the invite for content beyond
RSVP and the time it starts?

I would think for you that would mean a short dress rather than a long.

I think hubby is supposed to wear a suit and you a 'cocktail' dress, like
the ever popular 'little black dress'. Something very dressy, but not
flashy. When is your big night out? My hubby and I are actually going out
tomorrow to the big city to celebrate our anniversary. But we're not doing
anything near as fancy as you and a cocktail party. We're just doin' dinner
and maybe throw in a movie. Hope you have fun!

formal. why didn't they just write black tie like every other year????

We ususally include the kids in every thing, so he didn't want her left out.
Neither did I, but I wasn't up to a long trip. This makes 28 years! Yikes!!!
