According to the Hollywood Reporter, Chuck has left to peruse other
interests.
According to the New York Post, Woolery has taped a pilot for "Treasure
Hunt" and Berger has taped a pilot for "Match Game".
Also, according to HR, Dream Works has put "Majority Rules" on
"hiatus". While Dream Works did not have plans to go national at NAPTE,
they were interested in talking to stations. The plan now seems to be
to "retool" the show and try again later on.
Interesting stuff!
Happy New Year to all and here's hoping for a revival of "Winner Takes
All '97" and "Three on a $1,000,000 Match".
See ya,
Al

A moment from the orginal "Three on a Match"

Ole' Chuck has a tendency to do that, doesn't he?

Hmmmm...Woolery on "Treasure Hunt"...question though...is this a
revival of the 50's TH format or the 70-80s format? If it's the
70s-80s format, he's not the right type...TH needs someone who can be
a bit on the sadistic side...Geoff Edwards even put Monty Hall to
shame on this count...and Chuck is just a little too "folksy" to
torture contestants the way that TH requires...

That's a shame...although I didn't think the show was perfect, it was
decent to watch...I'd like to see more eps...Brad???? :)

Al, is your wife available to play during the WTA '97 premiere
episode?? It just won't seem the same without her! :)

May the great "I told you so" debate begin...
I'm glad game shows are back, but not TREASURE HUNT -- unless it's
suitably modified since Geoff Edwards.

At this point, I would watch it, however......

AAAAUGH!!! (I feel like Charlie Brown!) What does this mean... no more
MG? Or maybe he'll cross promote it on Fam... great... we're gonna have
to have a politically correct panel on MG now, because of Berger on
H&F...
Here's an idea... Call up Geno... I'm sure he still likes the flight out
to LA from Cape Cod... let's get some stability on this show we haven't
seen yet (MG97)...

I guess this means "Gameworld" looses another show to point fun at...

"Winner Takes All" could easily be revived... make it in to a big
prize game... who knows, they could give the contestants Really big
prizes as their stay on the show is prolonged... but 3 questions is a
little quick!
But, of course, we probably won't see "WTA97" ever because of the
instability over at AATV

I was watching LateNight games two days ago, and Laura said Pat Finn had
been over to the studio, and he had just taped a pilot or Sony's new
Treasure hunt..

I could see the headlines now:
(DREAM SEQUENCE ON)
Sony & Stone Stanley become partners in an expansion of FAM's Shop Til You
Drop format -- THE SHOP TIL YOU DROP/TREASURE HUNT HOUR.
-- The same boxes can be used for both shows!
(DREAM SEQUENCE OFF)
Is that a dream or a nightmare?
