Hey, anybody, have you seen the kids game show Zap It! on the Discovery
Channel's "Discovery Zone" programming on the weekends? From what I saw, it is
Remote Control meets (fill in a kids' game show here that is not Wheel 2000).

Has anybody seen it?

I've seen something like it once. Let me guess:

Three young contestants holding remotes try to stop a randomly changing channel
TV. When they do, that's when the question is asked (i.e., "All Vegetables
Channel": "What green vegetable, hated by George Bush, is still good for you
and must be eaten?"). I saw no stunts or physical challenges.

There was a kids’ version of Zap It, but there was also a pilot for an adult version of Zap It! hosted by Ahmet Zappa. I remember seeing it! I got that pilot in a tape trade! If only Wink Martindale’s Youtube channel could upload it.
I also found out that Zap It! was imported to Japan under the name Zap! Zap!. Like in the Zappa pilot, there were only adult contestants but they also had many physical challenges.

Announcing that Zap It! is NEW! NEW! NEW! this fall. Ahmet Zappa returns from hosting the grown-up pilot. It’ll air on MTV, where he previously hosted a game show.

Sure, the dominance of “streaming services” made television obsolete, but this show finally gets an adult version. Coming soon to MTV!
