Just a thought that ran through my head after finding out that Phil
Morris is Greg Morris's son. Have there been any other instances
where a celebrity's daughter/son has appeared on the same game
show as a celebrity that his/her parent appeared on as a celebrity?
By "same game show," I mean all incarnations such as with "Match
Game."

This popped into my head since Greg Morris appeared frequently on
"Match Game '7x." The only other instances I can think of are
Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, Jr. on "Password Plus" (I think even
during the same week) and Patty Duke Astin and Mackenzie Astin on
"The $25,000 Pyramid." This isn't counting shows where it would
be common to see a celebrity parent with their child like "Triple
Threat" and those special weeks of "Tattletales"

Steve Allen and his son were on Name's the Same a week or so ago.

There was a week in June 1965 where Robert and Alan Alda were the team
captains on The Match Game according to an old TV Guide I have, but I'm
not sure if they're father and son. During Thanksgiving week in November
1969, there was a week of It Takes Two in which the celebrity couples
were parents and kids. Guests were June Lockhart and daughter Junie,
James Drury and son Jimmy, and Barry Sullivan and daughter Patsy.
Several of us here are also aware of the fact that the only surviving
episode of this show has Meredith MacRae and her dad Gordon, who is a
substitute for her husband Greg Mullavey, who must have been busy
shooting something on location at the time.

Don't know if this counts, but GSN has aired a "password" ep. with the Gary
Morton family - Gary, Lucille Ball, Lucie and Desi Arnaz Jr. competing
against one another - it's a must-see episode, it should come up in the GSN
B&W Sunday rotation before too long.

Steve Beverly says that Jack Benny and his daughter Joan made
several appearances together on PASSWORD.

Yes they have....I happen to have one of these eps., and I'm somewhat pleased.
Having heard actual copies of The Jack Benny Show on a local radio station, he
still played the role as the cheapskate. BTW, on the ep I have, one of the
passwords he starts off got me ROTFL....

Allen- Mr. Benny, you have the next Password...
Announcer- (chuckling) The Password is "Miser" (ding)

Laughter erupted through the entire studio. Even Benny couldn't keep a
straight face. He finally calmed down and, for the first clue, said "ME". His
partner, IMO, didn't seem to get the clue, or why everyone burst out in
laughter, as she said "Comedian".

I'm wondering if Jack's butler from The Jack Benny Show, Rochester Van Jones
(sorry, don't remember his real name) appeared on any shows....

I'm going to stray slightly off-topic, but bear with me, it has to do with GS's
indirectly. Goto http://www.radiospirits.com/, where the sell old radio shows.
It's from one of the programs they air, "When Radio Was", that I've picked up
some radio GS eps, along with ORIGINAL eps of Superman with Bud Collyer. I
know it's a plug, but one, that IMO, worth it.

As far as I know, Eddie "Rochester" Anderson never appeared on any game shows,
although he may have been a "What's My Line?" Mystery Guest.

Mark Jeffries--I swear on the soul of Dan Enright that these posts are correct.

He's not listed in Gil Fates' book. Jack Benny was based in California, so it
would have been difficult for his cast to fit the NYC-based Line into their
schedules (Benny and Dennis Day were the only ones to appear as Mystery Guests,
and I suspect Day had already left Benny's program). I don't think Rochester
would have fooled the panelists very easily with his voice, either. (Odd that
they never booked Mel Blanc -- it would have been fun listening to him try to
fool the panel.)
