African-American Game Show Hosts, and Announcers

With today being Dr. Martin Luther King Day. I wanted to honor those
African-Americans that were Game Show Hosts, or Announcers, and they
are:
Adam Wade he was the first African-American to host a Game Show in 1975
as he was the host of the short lived CBS Game Show Musical Chairs
Robb Edward Morris who was the host in the second season on the
Nickelodeon Game Show Make The Grade in 1990
Lynne Thigpen she played the Chief in Where in The World is Carmen San
Diego a Game Show that is based on a popular Computer Game, and aired on
PBS from 1991 to 1996, and also in the spinoff Game Show Where in Time
is Carmen San Diego.
Burton Richardson who is a Game Show Announcer for Freemattle Media he
has announced on the following Game Shows.
-To Tell The Truth (1990-91, and 2000- version)
-The Price Is Right (1994-95 version, and Sub Announcer 2001)
-Family Feud (1999- )
Someday there will be more African-American hosts, or announcers. But
here are four of them that have done it.

I forgot to add four more:
Nipsey Russell who has appeared on almost every Game Show that
celebrities are guests, and he was the host of Sande Stewarts first ever
Game Show he created on his own Your Number's Up which aired on NBC in
1985, and also hosted the pilot for Jackpot! in 1984.
Bill Cosby he was the host of the 1990's revival of You Bet Your Life.
Al Roker who was a host on the MSNBC Game Show Remember This? in 1996.
Leslie Uggams who was a assistant on High Rollers in 1975, and was
co-host of Fantasy with Peter Marshall in 1983.
So here are four more African-Americans that have been hosts, or
announcers.

Someone mentioned recently was Spencer Christian, host of BET's version of
Triple Threat.

He had quite a career; in addition to this game show distinction, he had
three top ten hits as a singer, and was a lab assistant for the research
team led by Dr. Jonas Salk that conquered polio!

One name that no one's mentioned yet is Karen Bryant of Name That Video.

And was John Walker, the announcer on the BET Triple Threat an
African-American as well?

Mario Van Peebles and his dad hosted BET's Family Figures. And I guess you can
whomever hosts their new game show, On the Beat.

Who announced Nipsey's Juvenile Jury on BET, anyway?

Julie Rodgers hosted a quasi-game show on BET called Tell me Something Good in
1988-89(it used the Rufus/Chaka Khan classic tune of the same name as its
theme). I don't know if it had an announcer, though.

I think their announcer's name was Lynn Bailey.

Karen Bryant. What a dope. The announcer had just finished saying,
"From VH-1, this is Name That Video and here's your host..Karen Bryant".
So what does Karen say as she's coming onto the stage? "This is Name
That Video. I'm Karen Bryant".
Well, gee, you harlot, I'm glad we had that announcer cut that intro.
Also, during last summer's LMAD marathon, the announcer said, "And here's
your host..comedian Jeffrey Ross". And Jeffrey's first words? "I'm
Jeffrey Ross". And he didn't need to be introduced as "comedian Jeffrey
Ross". We can change judge for ourselves whether or not he's a comedian.
And he's not.
The late 90s Match Game:
"And here's our host..the guy that makes it all happen..Michael Burger!!".
Michael's first words, "Welcome to Match Game. I'm Michael Burger".
Makes you wonder why Paul Boland wasted his time. Damn idiots.
