Graham Elwood to Host the Jonathan Goodson/ Mark Cronin Produced Game Show
Launching January 2003
CULVER CITY, Calif., July 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Game Show Network (GSN) has
ordered 40 episodes of CRAM, the non-stop question and answer game show that
puts contestants to the ultimate test of endurance, memory and multi-tasking,
it was announced today by Bob Boden, senior vice president, programming. James
Rowley will executive produce and Graham Elwood (USA's "Strip Poker"), who is
represented by The Paradise Group, will host.
In the show, all the answers are given, but can the players recall them after
24-hours of non-stop cramming, without any sleep? CRAM is executive produced
by Jonathan Goodson and Mark Cronin.
"This high energy, off-beat quizzer represents Game Show Network's dedication
to new and edgy original game shows. Following the success of 'Russian
Roulette' and 'Friend or Foe,' I feel GSN is headed in the right direction and
I highly anticipate CRAM will appeal to all our viewers," said Boden.
CRAM consists of two teams of two players locked in separate study chambers for
24 hours. They must resist the urge to sleep while trying to retain as much
information as possible from a huge array of study materials. So random is the
material that it can range from news magazines, books of riddles, instruction
manuals for menial tasks, and lists of useless facts. The game consists of four
rounds in which players are quizzed on the reading material provided the
previous day. The catch, in an attempt to drain as much energy as possible
from the exhausted contestants, is that the questions come in a rapid-fire
style while the contestants are engaged in various physical stunts. The teams
try to eliminate each other by earning as many points as possible, with the
winning team moving into round four for a chance to win $10,000.

Yes, he's involved, as is a gentleman named Mark Cronin (do you suppose he
could be related to Rich, by any chance?)
no relation

Well, there's a really obvious celebrity show possibility here. Namely, the
cast of 24.

Those people who seem to know have stated that Jonathan Goodson's main
talents are the same as his father's--a talent to be an editor and
facilitator, the talent to ask the hard questions in perfecting a
format, but very little actual creative talent. He's supposedly not
as good as his father in those editing and facilitating talents.
If he surrounds himself with good people for this show (hopefully,
Steve Ryan is still with him, since he worked on the Goodson lottery
shows), "Cram" could be pretty good. If we hear of Goodson calling up
John Edward to try to speak to Chester Feldman from the beyond, we
could be in trouble.
