hand side for the entire show. Someone I Know taped TPIR and Yes The Huge eye
was on again.

I allready sent My E-mail to CBS

I Hope you will all join me in e-mailing CBS,NBC and FOX about these logos and
tell them "With New set top boxes and program guides these logo's are the thing
of the past and WON'T be needed anymore

These little logos in a lower corner of the screen are known in the industry as
"bugs" (How appropriate). I am afraid they are here to stay as networks worry
about their programming being intercepted and rebroadcast on other outlets
Supposedly some viewers like them because of the number of channels on most
cable systems, it is difficult to id a particular channel. . These bugs have
been used in Europe for years. What is annoying is how some local stations will
place their bug right next to the network bug and it takes up more room.

Excuse me laughing, but in the UK the excuse given by channels who
adopt them is that they have been extensively used in the USA.

However it is true that they are more or less permanent in many other
European countries.

In Australia, the network stations usually have it at the top right hand corner of
the screen, and only during sports telecasts, so as not to interfere with the
action.

I've never met anybody who would seriously tell me that they like
having logos on screen. Most people seem to manage to tune them out
(how lucky they are). However, to me they are annoying no matter how
small they are (obviously the smaller the better).

That being said, I would like to take this opportunity to encourage
people to e-mail CBS at aud...@cbs.com and tell them how they feel
about it. They are likely to be more receptive right now as they will
presumably seek feedback on their "innovation"
