Have you noticed that on tonight's episode of What's My Line, the nameplates
on the front of the desks are blank?

WUWT? (What's up with that?)

It's surprising that the panel, as well as the host formerly known as Mr.
Daly, referred to themselves by name.

Either that, or Geritol couldn't afford the nameplates.

My guess is that they had a last-minute change in guest panelist with
someone who hadn't been on the show before and there was no time to
have a new nameplate made (especially considering that it was a Sunday
night and Sam Cecere or any other CBS graphic artist was not at work).
Therefore, the decision seemed to be made that rather than have a
noticeable hole on the table, they'd just take all of the nameplates
off for the night.

I believe that the hyphenated name Terry-Thomas would take up too much
nameplate space. Remember when Suzy Knickerbocker was guest panelist. Her
nameplate simply read "Suzy".

How do they usually refer to themselves, by their astrological signs? Cell
block numbers?

WUWT? Isn't that the Omaha/Lincoln/Council Bluffs CBS affiliate? :-)

You know, if you really think it's necessary to spell out an abbreviation
you don't think we're familiar with, why bother even using it in the first
place? Abbreviations are supposed to make your messages shorter, not
longer.

Just a thought.

Blah. I've done it before, too. I'll write the acronym, and then realize
that not everyone will understand what I'm writing, so I'll spell it out for
clarification, but also as a teaching tool... Now some of my friends know
what IIRC and AFAIK mean, and we all know what WUWT means... :)
