I was re-watching my tape of TPiR's 25th Anniversary Special tonight and one of
the clips is of a contestant (late 70s/early80s) going crazy over something. 3
different reaction shots of this contestant were shown VERY quickly. (I
apologize if this is hard to follow). BUT, there is no indication as to why,
but Dig We Must is heard in the background of one of them . It does NOT look
like she is at the scoreboard of the Big Wheel and Bob says "You...You made it"
and the contestant is yelling "In my dreams". So this leads to my
question...was Dig We Must ever used as a music cue other than the Second
Showcase Showdown / Big Wheel Bonus Win Music? If so, when and why? Thanks.

YES, "Dig We Must" in its full form, was used as regular prize cue music. I
remember it used in showcases as well as for "group" prizes like living room
sets/carpeting/television sets on games like "Bonus Game" or "Grocery Game."

I assume it was used in the early 70's up until it became the win music on the
Showcase Showdown. I don't have the exact dates, but I remember hearing it.
(Ironically enough, as a kid, I liked that piece of music because of its chorus
-- that's what I always hoped there was enough copy for Johnny Olson to read so
that we'd hear it. The chorus, of course, is practically the only portion of
the full cut that appears in the Showcase Showdown win music.)

:)

"Dora, I've been doing this show a long time...
but how I ever ran into you, I do not know!!!"
- Bob Barker to a confused contestant playing 'Temptation' on "The Price is
Right."
