Since Richard Dawson kissed a lot
of female contestants on "Family
Feud" from 1976-1985.

I'd bet Louie Anderson should
kiss female contestants on
"Family Feud" beginning next season.

Do you think it's a good idea
or not a good idea for Louie
Anderson to start kissing
female contestants on
"Family Feud" anytime soon?

No! That's one of the main reasons I don't like the 1976-1985 era.

I think we all know he would much rather kiss the male contestants.

Not just that, but kissing was Richard's style. If Louie chooses not to kiss
the ladies, that's his business. Just like Ray Combs' style was to only kiss
ladies occassionally.

No - All of Dawson's talking and kissing slowed down game play. I find the
Dawson episodes running at 11:30 pm easy to watch because they have
eliminated practically all talking and hand holding in order to get up to
400 points. More game play and less "let's get to know these people" is the
ticket in my book. Louie also may not want to hold hands and kiss - some
people just aren't "touchy feely" sorts.

Unless, of course, the ladies kiss him. "I tell you what, you gonna kiss me,
baby!" :)

Well, that'd be one way to have two all-male teams every show...

I remember that one quite well from first run. My parents and I were like
"Holy Shit, Ray *is* the next Richard Dawson." Of course, we were only joking
around when we said that. :)

But, IMHO, that *was* the point of Feud. I believe that most viewers
tuned in, not so much to watch the game play, but to enjoy Richard's
witty banter and interaction with the contestants.

Just as MG's popularity was much more about the humor and the camraderie
amongst the panelists than the game itself, so it was with the original
Feud.

True, but the 400 point Feud era was a LITTLE rushed, not exactly good for
Dawson, or for the show's already-sagging ratings, as the show wasn't around a
year later.

I agree...Dawson basically made the original version the success that it
was, and the 400-pt rule made things WAY too rushed and left less time for
his familiar banter w/contestants, etc.

Louie should not kiss female contestants. He even said it was someone else's
thing.

The kissing, as well as the lollipops, are Dawson's trademark. Ray was
wise in doing his own thing and not retreading everything Dawson did.
I read somewhere that Louie agreed to do the show on the condition
that he DIDN'T have to kiss anyone.

Plus if Louie kissed my wife, he wouldn't have to worry about a gap in his
teeth.....He wouldn't have teeth left.

Or maybe it was the other way around.

The contestants won't go on the show unless Louie promises not to kiss
THEM.

He promised Izid Updare that he'd only kiss the women in his family.
