How common is it to see the same contestants on game shows? I been
going through my video tape collection and notice the following,
-Sancy Mitchell who was on PYL in '84 was on TTD with Jim Caldwell a
year later.
-Karen Sullivan was on FF in '80(The contestant who loved Richard
Dawson)was on PYL four years later(I need a Pool Table for Dan...,lady
and hit that space.)
Also I know of Kit Salisbury was on TTD and J! Any others?

One contestant has always stuck in my mind. Her name is Heidi Nielson Daniels,
and she appeared on 3 different shows with Bill Cullen. Her first was in 1979
on "Password Plus" with Cullen guesting, then 2 years later in 1981 on
"Blockbusters," and yet again in 1983 on "Child's Play."

Makes you wonder if hosts remotely recognize the players when they come back
on another show. My guess is probably not, with the hundreds and thousands
of faces that pass by.

Tons. For example, I recall early on in the WWTBAM run hardly a show would go
by without seeing a former Jeopardy! champion.

And of course, altvgs's very own Leszek has been on no less than 4 shows.

I can think of a lot of contestants who were on two game shows. Coming up
with three or more is trickier for me. Among the two time contestants who
come to mind that I have seen:

Barbara Goldsmith
-MG74 and first week of Break The Bank

Dan Avila
-Break The Bank; Greed

Lew Mason
-Dating Game; MG74

Marvin Schenkman
-Split Second; Jeopardy

Ken? (The Marine Officer)
-MGPM; Wheel Of Fortune (Woolery)

Alan Lusher
-Double Dare (Trebek); Jeopardy

Sue Dolleris
-$20,000 Pyramid; Shoot For The Stars
(And thank you again for saving your appearances!)

SEVERAL OTHERS!!

Maggie Brown
-Second Chance, The Joker's Wild (CBS), Press Your Luck (March '84), and Whew!
(at least according to the EoTVGS ed. 3)

Jennie Jones (aka Jenny Jones)
-Press Your Luck in early 1985, and syndicated Match Game.

Kirstie Alley
-Password Plus+ and syndie Match Game both in the early 80's!

Paige Green
-Hollywood Squares and Press Your Luck

Scott Hostetler
-Press Your Luck in Dec. 1983, and Match Game '98.

Richard (can't remember last name...)
-Press Your Luck on Feb. 1984, and a tournament winner on the $100,000 Pyramid.

"Crazy" Lela
-Won big on PYL, and Card Sharks in 1980 with Jim Perry.

Leland Yung
-Password Plus+ on the second week of its run (remember the "marijuana"
episode?) and won BIG on Blockbusters!

Tom Gauer
-$ale of the Century and Caesar's Challenge!

Paulette Stapler
-PYL in 1986, and Combs Family Feud in 1988. (I knew I remembered that one!)

Aaron Solomon ----> I'm sure people here know him!
-Scrabble during a Teen Tourney, and Pictionary.

Randy West ---->Anyone know him? ;-)
-A verrry odd game of PYL in August 1984. Hey, that episode is coming up some
time in the next couple weeks on GSN! Also Hit Man, isn't that right?

Vanna White (huh?)
-On Contestants' Row in 1980 while looking at herself.... and she played a game
of Wheel of Fortune on 4/1/1997. ;-)

Tom Kennedy (wha....?)
-Played for someone in the audience on Wheel of Fortune in 1980, and countless
others....

Ok, now this list is getting ridiculous! I'd better stop here.... :-)
Funny how most of these are from PYL!

She also appeared on Wipeout, IIRC.

One question -- how could Maggie appear on both the pilot for PYL and
also a regular episode? Isn't there a rule that someone can't
re-appear on the same game show if they lose, unless the show screws
up? Or doesn't that rule apply for pilots?

LaRae Dillman was on Blockbusters and The $25,000 Pyramid. Wasn't there one
named Liz Cochazie, or something, who was on $oftC (Perry) and J! (Trebek)? I
think at that time you were allowed to be on 3 in your lifetime, right now, I
think that's all that's left, lol.

I have two to add who have been on three game shows, although the span of time is well over ten
years:

Mark Ryder (Password Plus, The Challengers, WWTBAM(in ROF twice) );

#2 $$ winner of all time, Ed Toutant (J!, The Challengers, and of course, the record-holder for most
trips to WWTBAM).

Rich Carroll, who was recently on WL, has also been on WOF.

I remember a woman who was on J! and some other show, I can't remember her name, but she carried some
sort of stuffed animal for luck on both shows (maybe the other show was Scrabble?) Does this ring a
bell for anyone else? Or is that the woman referred to below?

The winning contestant on tonight's MGPM was also on P+ in December 1979 and
racked up several wins.

Repeat contestants on the 50s-60s G-T panel shows was also not an uncommon
experience evidently to cut down on the expense of coming up with new
occupations/secrets/subjects if they had previous contestants from other shows
on file. Among those that appeared on more than one of those shows as a lead
subject:

Marian Lanaway-Woman's champion bowler (WML and TTTT)

Natalie Kushner-State Department Russian translator (TTTT and WML)

A gentleman named Boyes (last name) who went over Niagara Falls in his own

Great thread, gang.

Here's my contribution...

Frank Nicotero (Debt, Ultimate Fan Search; I wonder whatever happened to
this guy...:-))
Alan ??? (Tic Tac Dough 90, Free 4 All, Debt; why do I remember this trio of

Evelyn Evelyn (sole ep. of Knockout on trading circuit and Blockbusters)
Brian Hunt (Card Sharks, both Perry and Rafferty versions, and Celeb Whew!)
Sarabeth Rothfeld (CBS Double Dare, Face the Music, Match Game 98)
Karis ??? (Rafferty Blockbusters premiere and Match Game 98)
Kandi Doyle and Leland Yung (both on Password Plus and Blockbusters)
LaRae Dillman (Blockbusters and The $25,000 Pyramid)
Connie Rutenbar (The $25,000 Pyramid and The $1,000,000 Chance of a
Lifetime)
Dautie ??? (Child's Play pilot and Body Language)
Miki Mootsey (It's Your Chance of a Lifetime and Hollywood Showdown)
Nicole ??? (Hollywood Showdown premiere and Street Smarts premiere)
Mark DeCarlo (Sale of the Century and Tic Tac Dough 90)
Howard Wilson (Whew! and Jeopardy!)
Randy West, NOT the one we know (Blockbusters and High Rollers)
Deb Howard (Whew!, Jeopardy!, Scrabble 93 premiere, several others)
Jon Jon ??? (Supermarket Sweep and All New 3's a Crowd)
Sheryl Svenssen (Match Game and Wheel of Fortune)

And the nameless wonders...
I don't recall the couple's name but they were on The Newlywed Game, where
they had a perfect 70, and 3's a Crowd.
There was also a guy on Match Game 98 who said he was on The Magnificent
Marble Machine and Vicki Lawrence was his celeb partner.

Jeff,
Normally, pilot contestants are invited back on the show without
mention of their pilot appearance, because pilots are never intended
to air. Pilots can also be "fixed."

Was he also on Blockbusters (Cullen) or is that another Randy West?

As per her book, "Love Can Build a Bridge", she lasted for a full week on
the show before retiring undefeated. Also, she recalled employees in a
department store sitting on recliners in front of a row of TVs, all tuned to
HS, to watch her "debut".

There was a contestant on Scrabble '84 who mentioned to Chuck that is he
(the contestant) didn't have his mustache, Chuck might remember him from WOF
5 years prior. Believe the contestant's name was Mark but I'm not 100% sure
if it indeed was,

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Bernie Cullen. Trust me, he is a name you
should all be familiar with. 5-day champ on J! and a Millionaire on WWTBAM.
Probably the only contestant I've heard of, who has TWO perfect scores.

I don't recall the celebs. She was on in '83. I've seen her ep. a few
times on GSN over the past year.

One that I remember but haven't seen mentioned yet is Leon Reed (sp?),
who appeared on Bullseye and Hit Man.

For the duration,

Is this the guy who won a bonus round w/10 spins on a Bullseye ep that's
been floating around for some time? If so, he also appeared on Tic Tac Dough
in 1979, before either of those.
