Does anyone in Texas, or elsewhere have access to TCI Digital?! It includes
GSN, but am curious to how much it costs to install, monthly fees, etc... How
does it compare to DirecTV?? Trying to call TCI is a major pain, so I'd
rather hear about it from the subscribers..

This might have been only our local TCI branch that did this but when
digital cable was added, GSN along with WGN, EOP, and TCM were added to the
normal extended cable lineup. They didn't make any announcements about this
though. I program my tv to skip scrambled stations, so you just have to have
go through the stations manually or do an autoscan. I was pleasantly
surprised when GSN showed up one day, it is far better at home, than here on
campus where GSN is shared with a local station.

I had TCI Digital Cable installed about a month ago. It costs $13.95 to
install, $10 a month for basic programming(without multi-plex movie
channels) and $3.25 a month for the converter.

I wanted to get TCI Digital too.
But somethings held me back
1. The cost- all packages in my area were over $39.00-that's just too much for
me!
2. The Selection of channels-Ovation,TV Land,TCM,CBC America I
think,Romance,Much,Discovery New Digital Package-stuff that didn't interest me
3. An extra charge for a second tv.
BTW, during the time this was being offered TCI was ready to sell their N.Y
systems to CableVision which later stop selling this digital package but
leaving people who had it stuck paying high rates and not geting the Direct
Digital from TCI.
